First picture is the default max zoom-out distance in DE.

2nd picture is from a russian streamer who is playing auto ranked who can see 2x the battlefield w/ an increased zoom-out.

I don't care how they justify it (often it's in the guise of just "quality of life" improvements - not real cheats...). This is cheating.

You are getting an advantage over a player who doesn't manipulate game files in order to alter the game from it's intended design. One of the primary skills in an RTS game is the ability to manage different tasks on different parts of the map - and the means by which you do so (CTRL-groups, mini-map clicking, edge panning, etc.) is directly related to your performance.

Accepting these mods in 3rd-party events/tournaments is one thing (assuming it is clearly stated they are allowed w/ clear means for all participants to acquire it). But in the base game, and especially automatch, increasing the zoom-out beyond what is normal gives you a competitive advantage (and no matter how small that advantage is, it is still cheating in my book).

This zoom-out mod shouldn't even be available in automatch after the most recent patch, yet here we are. It is absurd that the dow1 pvp community accepts this. And one of the primary reasons I lost interest in DoW1 pvp.
