Canon: How strong do you think Creighton Sun?

where would you rate him compared to other Jedi and sith in canon?

u/ThomasWilson77 — 5 days ago

from my understanding of the character was that he always wanted to stay in power that he never truly believed in the rule of two. my question is why would he want Luke or Anakin , when it was obvious that they both had the potential to surpass him and probably kill him once they had the chance. if anything vader losing his limbs was better for him some he was a strong appreciate that would not surpass him, so why change that with Luke.

I recently started the high republic main story, and so far it’s been fantastic. I loved phase 1 and I was a little bit annoyed by the fact they were bringing the story to the past because I was really excited to see how the story was going to go and the characters of that time period, but now after reading path of deceit all I have to it was perfect introduction to this era of the high republic and i am excited to see how it goes.

when reading the story it felt very calm at the beginning and while I felt it was going to be like the other young adult books, while not being kiddish it would have an happy ending that made you feel good about it. That end left me in shock, like why did they have do my boy Kevmo like that. I fully expected him to live even if his master died, that he would make it off the planet and tell the Jedi, but he died in a way that just left me in shocked.

I really enjoyed the conversation about the force and the different view about the force even though I fully on the Jedi side on how the force should be connected with. Kevmo and Marda Ro were really interesting and I liked how they growed to care for each, sometimes I feel like story rush to build an connection but this felt very natura.

kevmo was a very interesting character that I believe would of been a great Jedi, i loved his conflict with his opinion on the force and how he stuck to his beliefs but still let people question them. I would say that I probably would like to have more time with him and his master it felt like Zallah was not in the story as much and I wasn’t as mad or sad for her death and more to kevmo fear.

marda was great also, even through I was very annoyed by her end decision, it felt in character and I can see how she got there even through I would of preferred and expected her to leave and tell the Jedi. I think it was interesting in her conflict between helping her loved ones and kevmo or still to her beliefs in the force.

finally on to, Yana Ro was probablyy least favourite out of protagonists, it felt like she wasn’t really do much to effect the plot or drive the story forward. I kinda think they should of spent a little bit more time building the relationship with her girlfriend and her cousin, to make us feel a lot more when she finally decided to leave and her aim for revenge. what I would say is that I am interested in how her struggles carries on because I question will she be the one that kills the mother or is marda does.

The mother doesn’t seem that interesting as an antagonist , she seems like just normal vilain that using people beliefs to gain power without having any other reason, she might grow but right now I wouldn’t say she really add any other then the conflict in Marda, but I believe a big reason of that is because are building a marda up to be the antagonist of the story.

I think the best part of the story is the connection between the characters in this story since the story made most of are main characters feel human and made me want them to live and see how their life carry on. especially marda and kevmo, i think they were built on really well, and made kinda sad that they killed kevmo, but especially in the way did, all I would say is that I kinda wish the Jedi lived on. I also loved how they are introducing stuff from phase 1 and hopfully we learn even more about them.

in my opinion it’s probably the best young adult I’ve read in the series and is matching the level of my favourite book in the high republic being light of the Jedi. I would give it a low 9 out of 10. with light of Jedi being a bit a better in my opinion, with it being a high 9 out 10.

mine is probably Star Wars the High Republic Path of Deceit. I love the the bright stars and the bright blue colour around it that in background has a high republic symbol that doesn’t take anything from the art. so what’s your favourite.

What’s the chance that the other sequel Luke’s gets an Artisan Edition or 2.0, now that the Hermit Luke got an Artisan Edition.

so I am reading the main story of the high republic, THR Megathread. I was wondering once I finish the main story since I have been really enjoying it. how well and is it worth reading the other content after reading the main story, so my main question is how well do these story do, as stand alone stories.

edit:

What I mean, since I was probably not clear enough is that I am reading the main story that was part of the High republic megathread. Which included the main comics, the young adult books and the adult books, but there is completion reading order and there is quite a few extra comics ,manga and other stuff also part of it. I am wondering after after the main story, do the stories that are not part of main stories  work as standalone well enough to read after, or should I give them skip and maybe read them in a another re read sometime down the line if I ever do a re read.
