How does Force Drain work?

How does force drain actually work, because it seems like a pretty easy instant win move in a fight.

Darth Nihilus and Darth Vitiate are the two most well known users of force drain, Nihilus eating planets and Vitiate absorbing all life on Ziost.

But I was wondering if its so powerful why don't they just use it to win every fight?

Unlike force lightning you can't just block it so does it have something to do with how powerful you are in the force or do they have to charge up before draining something?

kinda hot take, but canon made by far much better job at handling Han Solo in terms of his origin. Making Han descendant/part of Corellian royalty/nobles in the Legends was just stupid imo

What if. Anakins full potential as the force god

At first i dont know everything about star wars and im just seen the movies so my suggestion might not make any sense.

I accidentally got this idea for the what if series in star wars that what if anakin does not cut mace windu arm but they end up together to stop palpatine once and for all and after that anakin could continue his training to bring the balance to the force, but he doesnt know what is the right way so he just rush everywhere and fight all the evil with raw power.

All the other jedies are little bit afraid anakins power even though he just want to end all the evil in galaxy but hes powers are so strong that jedies know that no one can control him. Even though he has not yet fulfilled his true potential.

So anakins start to be annoyed that every one are so like "you should more this and this and not like this" so he turns up to padme who is still pregnant. I dont know how the conversation could go but anyway. Anakins is going back to mission or something and being there padme is starting feeling contractions and needs to go to the hospital to give birth and obi wan is going with her.

So when padme is giving birth anakin feels her pain and knows that shes not gonna make it so when padme dies anakin feels it immediately in force so hes feelings of sadness and anger tears places apart and every force user can feel the pain what anakin is going thru. so anakin rush to the hospital and when he sees padmes body hes feelings are just growing and you can see it on his eyes when they are slowly turning yellow and sparkles are coming from his hands and his struggling between darkness and light. But when he hears lukes or leias cry he almost immediately kind like awake and turns around and see when obi wan is carrying a baby and slowly give it to anakin and that's where he realizes everything. That padme is still living inside them and that it was all about love. Not fighting, but love. So all the feelings just disappears and darth vader never borns.

And the series could end for when anakin realize everything he must do and sit down and just with his connection to the force he stops all the evil in the whole galaxy and it could be call purification or something.

These events could be at the end of the series. But otherwise the series could tell something about his growth to become the bringer of balance.

Thanks for reading down here. I appreciate it.

And if there are much more wiser fans then me out there, please throw some ideas for this 🙂👍

Who amongst the Jedi & Sith would be Grandmaster Luke's nightmare matchup?

Luke is by far and away the strongest Jedi to ever exist, but he isn't infallible and he does have weaknesses that some characters could use to possibly eek out an upset if everything goes right for them.

For starters no one is overpowering Luke in a straight fight, so anyone hoping to beat Luke needs to rely on evening the odds with unusual ability or trickery. Luke also never goes all out unless pushed to the brink so that's a point in his enemies favor as they won't just get one shot.

Palpatine, while a heavy weight, tends to not use his more esoteric powers combatively as seen with his prior fights with Luke so he is out.

Yoda dosen't have anything to even the odds given he is a painfully straightforward combatant so he gets steamrolled.

Krayt might actually stand a better chance than Palpatine due to being shown draining Lukes power in their brief alliance but I doubt this buff could solely carry him to victory unless Luke lets his guard down for a Dark Transfer attack.

The people with the best shot of Luke are Jedi Sages and Sith Sorcerers that might have a lethal trick that Luke might not know how to counter.

Vitiates Force Drain, Mental domination, and body duplication might throw Luke off guard for a bit but I don't think he has anything to one-shot Luke before he gets serious and crushes Vitiate.

Nomi Sunriders Force Light is busted and could sever Lukes ability to use the force but it's not a certainty since how the power works and it's limits are unclear.

The best bet to bring down Luke is thus Darth Nihilus. Luke is proven to not have resistance to force Drain given Krayt was able to drain him, and Krayt drain is far inferior to the guy that can eat the planet. Luke CAN one-shot Nihilus before he raises his hand by that isn't in character for Luke so Luke probably becomes yet another snack for the Sith.

Dooku and Palpatine vs Mace and Anakin

I feel like each of them at their prime Mace beats Palps and Anakin takes Dooku.

Despite being the founder of the "Sith Inquisitor" archetype as SWTOR described it, Palpatine actually fights much more like a Sith Warrior when in Combat.

While yes Palpatine does LOVE to spam lightning attacks and is VERY knowledgeable in Darkside's more esoteric nature.

However, Palpatine doesn't really seem to use these more sorcerous abilities in actual combat aside from the aforementioned lightning and basic TK attacks, fighting more like Sith Warriors like Darth Malgus but with a focus on speed rather than strength.

We see in all his major fights with people like Mace Windu, Yoda, and Luke that he tends to attempt to win with pure saber skill and then switches to lightning and telekinesis when that doesn't work, but Palpatine never even uses stuff like Force Drain in combat (which Luke, Yoda, and Mace canonically can't resist) nor does he bust out any Sith spells.

In a comparison between Darth Bane and Zannah I would actually say Palpatine is much more similar to Darth Bane, being grandscale manipulators with a mastery of the Darkside who nonetheless are rather blunt in the application of the force while in combat.

Jedi Solo by JosephB222 on Deviantart

Sadly, the artist never finished colouring this artwork, but I thought I’d share it here anyway! I honestly love how they gave Jaina a blue lightsaber here - she needs a distinctive colour from Anakin and the blue/green pairing with her and Jacen works so well. Now all they’d need to do is give a yellow saber to Ben and we’d be perfect!

My ROTS Combatant Tier List (EU, please read below explanations)

For me, Windu with the Vaapad amp would go right between Sidious and Yoda. Base Windu is below Yoda.

Suited Vader here is a stand in for knightfall Vader.
Windu beats Anakin/Vader, Anakin beats Dooku, Dooku beats Mace extreme diff. (Again base Mace and Dooku are comparable, and Dooku would not give Mace the same amp that Sidious did).

Agen Kolar was not on the site, he goes right around Tiin.

Grievous was tricky. I think going in fresh he beats Shaak Ti extreme diff. The two times they fought she was exhausted.

Sorry if the tier list is small, I didn’t feel like making an account.

Please feel free to agree or not. I’m curious as to your reasoning!

What if Ysanne Isard's plan is slightly changed...

Okay so for those that have absolutely 0 idea of what Im talking about let me start from scratch and give some context:

In this scenario, Ysanne Isard's plan is a bit different from her plan from the comics in which she essentially tricked Sate Pestage and the Imperial Ruling Council into blundering Brentaal 4, letting the New Republic gain a foothold in the Core Worlds and causing a political crisis which eventually led to both the Council and Pestage being removed from the picture allowing for Isard's rise to power. Yet there is one flaw, she let the New Republic gain a foothold in the Core Worlds. And she'd go on to let the New Republic get Coruscant itself in an overly complicated scheme to logistically cripple the New Republic through the Krytos Virus.

So what if her plan was changed a bit?

  1. Isard arranges for the Battle of Brentaal to be a failure, however, the epicenter of the Krytos Virus is not Coruscant but rather Brentaal IV. So now not only does she cause a political crisis for her political rivals that ends up paving the way for her ascension but she also is unleashing the Kyrtos Virus earlier than in the timeline.
  2. After seizing power and dealing with the Tribunal and later killing the Central Committee of Grand Moffs, Isard goes a step further and does the very same thing that the Galactic Republic did in the New Sith War which started the Republic's Dark Ages: disabling the hyperspace relays connecting the Core Worlds, Colonies, and parts of the Inner Rim to the rest of the galaxy

For those that still have no clue what Im talking about and what the Republic actually did in the New Sith War, let me show you what the Knight Errant Gazetter says:

>HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

>The dire conditions facing the Republic today require little amplification on my part. It is difficult to recall another time in history when so many factors have gone against those working to promote peace and good will.

>There is little need, for example, to describe our long years of war with the newly risen Sith Lords on the Outer Rim. The Grumani sector is one such nest of evil, but today's map of the galaxy shows many disparate areas under Sith control, like cancerous lesions. Alongside the Republic Navy, the Jedi Order sought to stem the tide by making stands on world after world, Republic-affiliated or not.

>But such efforts fell short, partially due to another factor: plague. If the Sith threat is the fire, the Candorian Plague proved a deadly and effective accelerant. Even the noblest defenders cannot stand long when their own bodies fail them. Systems under quarantine could not be defended -- and Sith Lords more interested in conquest than the well-beings of their own warriors took advantage. World after world fell to the Sith conquerors.

>Exceptional times call for exceptional measures. One such measure came when the Republic turned to Jedi for political leadership. Jedi Chancellors such as Your Grace have served to guide both the Republic and Order through many a storm.

>Another such measure was more extreme. controversial, and, sadly, probably necessary. Drawing a security cordon around the Core, the Colonies, and part of the Inner Rim, the Republic deactivated the hyperspace relays beyond. Both navigational and message relays were affected. Instantaneous communication with most of the Outer Rim ceased -- as did communication between those Rimworlds. No longer would the Sith Lords be able to easily exploit the existing Republic systems to speed their own conquests; hyperspace couriers came back into use across much of the galaxy.

>Perhaps more importantly, the action robbed the Sith of access to the constantly updated Republic database of hyperspace lanes. Many smaller vessels depend on hyperspace buoys to provide information as to their own location and other destinations; now, in many cases, Sith fliers are limited to the coordinates they bring with them. Scouting missions have revealed that some Sith Lords have constructed their own rudimentary hyperspace relay networks (in some cases, reverse-engineering or reactivating our own buoys), but thankfully, that has been a limited phenomenon. Most Sith genuinely do not know what lies beyond the stellar horizon -- and that has greatly added to the protection of the Republic. Our "firewall" is one of void and interstellar dust, using the vast distances between stars to slow the Sith spread.

>The Republic has thus managed to preserve a good deal of what our civilization has accomplished. The same, sadly, cannot be said for the locations outside the cordon, where great libraries and storehouses of ancient wisdom have been taken by Sith invaders, destroyed, or both. Technological advancement has, in large measure, stagnated in areas under Sith control. There is little commercial incentive for innovation; some Sith areas have no units of exchange at all, with all manufacturing done by slave labor or droids.

>There are corporations that continue to function under Sith rule; as will be seen, some Sith Lords permit firms to continue functioning in their space, provided they reap the rewards. The Republic has strongly encouraged all corporations with operations in Sith territory to withdraw behind the cordon, not just for the safety of their employees, but so that current Republic technology does not fall into Sith hands.

>So the Republic survives, though much smaller than it had once been. (The popular term "rump Republic" is distasteful, but does describe what remains.) The Jedi spend much of their year at the frontier, with only some of their time devoted to their traditional duties of keeping order on Republic worlds. Republic military forces battle valiantly to protect the frontiers from further encroachment -- and while engagements continue, the good news, if it can be called that, is that many of our opponents seem more interested in fighting each other than invading the Republic. Prolonging this period of disunity among the Sith is one of the goals of my efforts in general, and Operation Influx in particular.

So, with these conditions established: How much does the Galactic Civil War change?

Yes, this is also assuming that the Krytos Virus is ready earlier in the timeline for the sake of a more fun scenario.

How come malgus or revan don’t beat Vader with ease?

Both of them can do powerful force lightning which is vaders weakness and both of them are superior and more agile duelists than Vader who relies on static powerful blows?

Everybody always asks who would win between Dooku and Windu. But what about between General Tyranus VS Mace Windu. Who wins that?
