If it ever happens, what do you want to see in a sequel to Lost Stars?

If it ever happens, what do you want to see in a sequel to Lost Stars?

Claudia Gray has discussed the possibility of writing a sequel to this novel for almost a decade at this point, but nothing definitive has ever been given on the subject. So assuming this idea hasn’t been abandoned, what would you like to see in a hypothetical Lost Stars 2, given that this book has been an unexpected hit among Star Wars fans?

This is my first Star Wars book. Will I enjoy this?

I've seen the original trilogy, and liked it. I'm a casual fan, but I want to dive deep into the lore and the story.

That being said, what could I expect from this book?

Recomendations for reference/suplement books

Hello all!

I'm a big fan of Star Wars, either Legends, Canon or whatever. I have read the majority of books, comics, played a lot of the games, etc... and what I haven't yet is in my to-do list. That part is covered.

But there is something that I haven't paid that much attention in all my years of fandom and that is supplementary materials. Like reference books, visual guides, artbooks, sourcebooks, etc...

So I'm slowly making a list and getting what interests me (or what I can find/afford) and I thought that I wouldn't lose anything by asking for some recs.

I don't care if the info in them is outdated. On the contrary, it kind of feels like a time capsule when you read something like that

This is what I already have or is in my whislist:

- The three "Making of" books of the original trilogy by J.W. Rinzler: Favorites of mine.

- "The Art of Star Wars" book series. I'm halfway to getting them all. Love them.

- The High Republic Character Encyclopedia. I have almost all things released of The High Republic.

- Taschen "The Star Wars Archives". On my whislist. Waiting for a sale

- Timelines. On my whistlist.

I know there is a lot of books like Visual Guides, Visual Archives, Encyclopedias, Vehicles, Blueprints, etc... are there any standouts? I feel like a lot of this books overlap each other but I could be wrong.

Any cool artbooks?

I also would like more academic or documentary-style books of the saga if there are any.

An last but not least. I know the roleplaying books had a great influence in the Expanded Universe, especially at the beginning. Are there any cool sourcebooks, compendiums or things like that? I would only want it to read for myself, not to play them.

Thank you all.

Was told I should share this here. I'm still 30 books or so short of the full EU in MMPB

The white paper pieces mark the books im still missing for the full collection.

Red Harvest? Have you read this?

Have you read this title before? I was browsing the bookstore and came across this and Death Troopers and the idea of zombies in the universe of Star wars just fascinates me.

have any of you read this book (no spoilers please) or have you read Death Troopers??

I love these stand alone titles.

Just finished my re-read of Outbound Flight, and had the thought - if Car'das is there to show us that Thrawn is smart, is Maris there to show us that Thrawn is... sexy?

Car'das' primary function in the story is for Thrawn to have someone to explain his thoughts processes to so we can see what a genius he is (much like Pellaeon and then Eli Vanto). Most of the scenes with Maris are just her fawning over how cultured and brilliant and fascinating he is and how much she "admires" him, and it makes her partner very jealous. I can't think of a reason for Zahn to spend so much time on this other than that he wants us to know that Thrawn can get it.

Highly unpopular Lost Stars opinion

I know most people here LOVE that book. Don't take my head off but I couldn't stand it and stopped reading after less than 100 pages.

I have no interest in a star-crossed lover young adult novel set in the Star Wars universe. To me, it seems like an outlier in terms of Star Wars offshoot books and I want good old-fashioned Star Wars.

Anybody else feel this way?

I'm preparing for the onslaught...

Just heard about this upcoming sequel book, and I'm super excited! Put it on pre-order. What do you guys think? Roux is a solid author. Plus, this is a new adventure set in between 8 & 9 to fix Rey's lightsaber. It sounds promising to me.

This book was boring

I honestly expected so much more from this book being that it speaks on one grand adventure that the entire Jedi Council embarks on. But overall, it was boring and struggled to maintain my attention. Took me about two weeks to read it. Meh…Kenobi up next

I did something foolish…

I rebought books I already owned. The first years of canon novel paperback releases were in mass market format. Now all paperbacks are in standard format, with the old books slowly getting rereleases. It was bugging me having my books in different sizes. But hey, it’s made me want to finally reread some of them

My ranking of all canon star wars books (Update after one year)

Last year I already posted this list. It's has now been expanded by all the new releases: Haunted Starlight Into the Light The Acolyte: Wayseeker A Valiant Vow Trials of the Jedi Sanctuary The Jaws of Jakku The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown The Last Order Master of Evil Outlaws: Low Red Moon Terror on Mustafar

The book that most underperformed my expectations was Master of Evil and Low Red Moon was the overperform in this regard for me.

Are the whole x wing books worth reading?

I started reading the Legends books, and often hear about the x wing books, and how important they are for the story. And I want to read books that play after these, and apparently there important for the story. but they seem like a lot, and I don’t really think they are worth the time. Some suggestion how to summarize the story?

books involving dooku?

looking for books that include dooku as a part of the cast. he’s one of my fav characters so i’m looking for any story that includes him. i finished master and apprentice which i loved but im looking for more dooku than what that book has to offer. i also read and loved the ROTS novelization but yknow. my boy gets merked almost instantly. man i wish Stover got more time with dooku as a character because his interpretation of him was so interesting to read. he writes dooku’s psyche as we expect, all arrogant and snooty, but there’s clearly racism and some pure definition narcissistic personality disorder in there that i never really associated with the character until now.

any other books that feature dooku as a main character/somewhat major component?

Padawan or Queen’s Peril?

Going back to read all the ya novels I’ve missed, and have been between the Padawan book about Obi-Wan or starting the Padme books. Any recommendations between the two?

Updates to Galactic Timeline

Hey everyone! I thought I would share a quick update about Galactic Timeline!

Over the past couple of days I've been working on updates to the filtering system, changing the legends covers to the originals and fixing the back button so that your filters and screen position stay the same.

This week I will be focusing on getting all the junior reader books uploaded for canon and legends. After that I'll be diving into getting comics.

Let me know if you have anything you'd like to see on the website and thanks for your support!

Edit: alright yall convinced me I’m getting all three.

Follow up question, are there novelizations of the original trilogy? If so are they good?

Why do I have these?

A strange question to post I know, but I don't remember buying Revan or Deceived. I just bought Fatel Allicen as I remember liking that one for some weird reason. But I know for a fact I never bought Revan or Deceived. Is the audible app just glitched?

Can't find revenge of the sith paperback anywhere

I've been looking everywhere for the revenge of the sith novel by matthew stover, specifically the edition published by arrow books in the UK (not del rey and not the recent rebranded prints with the penguin logo) but without success. I ordered from local bookstores that list it as arrow books or cornerstone but I ended up receiving the penguin logo version. I looked on ebay and other such platforms for used copies and it might just be the only star wars paperback with no evidence (actual seller photos instead of stock images) of existing, it's insane. There's only photos of the hardcover, and only stock photos for the paperback listings.

Any of you that can help me?
