had to cut my monstera

i’m renting a student house and my monstera was growing into the wall and has damaged the paint so i had to cut it before it got any worse 💔
i’m hoping the cuttings will survive, is there anything i should change ?

Help sectioning thumb?

This is my second knitting project (another pair of gloves) but my gloves look a lot wider than the one in the video (https://youtu.be/0uUWxq1ypGE?si=bW654ycgZQLEaGcV).
I’m assuming this is because i have much wider hands, however in the video she sections the thumb by separating the increase rows (between the stitch markers) from the original, and casts on more for the main part. I don’t think this will work for me because i have a lot more increases, meaning my thumb will be too big.
Do i just seperate less stitches for the thumb and continue the same, skipping the cast on extra? And will this look okay with my slip stitch stripes?
And how do i know how many stitches is needed for the thumb?
I’m sorry i’m not explaining this well at all i am not good at explaining so i hope you can understand.
