It was a pain to get them done, still 2 to go ! I didn't realise I painted their pouches orange (colourblind), so lets just say they're made out of Squig hide ! My phone pushes the contrasts a bit too much, IRL the tabards are smoother.

Firsts Crimson Fists ! It's been a while since I've painted "clean" Astartes. I'm a bit rusty on many of the techniques used (especially edge highlights...) but I'm pretty satisfied. The ultramattE varnish from GSW is too strong for my liking though, it makes the minis a bit dull I think.
I'll definitely try the "grimdark" style on them, as it's what I'm good at, and it also fits their lore better.

I'm trying alternatives to Kanto Blue, and ended up trying this. Not that I don't like Kantor Blue, but GW paints are not ideal for airbrushing. This is AK Imperial Blue. It's beautiful but very punchy. A bit too much ?
Eternally unsatisfied with the armor.

Greetings. I wanted to paint highlights/scratches on the shoulder pads in orange like the cloak, but was afraid it wouldn't differentiate the two materials enough. So I opted for grey, matching the black armour. Does it work ?
I hesitate to add blood on the axe, but I think it looks great that way . Also first time painting a worn looking fabric with this "scratchy" method. I'm happy with the result !
