LATINOS OF MONTGOMERY HELP ME

Just moved from Florida and NEED to know where to buy fresh sofrito (the PR type). Yes, I can and do make it myself. However, I am old and tired.

Where are the Spanish markets? The Latinos are hiding from me again.

Bonus point if you know where to get a banging bowl or san cocho or estafado. I am starving.

Best Third Places to Read at?

Hey looking for a third place to read at in my free time. Used to go to Copperline or the beach before I moved here.

What's your favorite coffee shop or common space?

Am I messing up?

I am currently aiming for 1600 calories a day so I can bank the remaining ones for fun days. Weightloss is going well. With inconsistent exercise, I am down about 7lbs in 2.5 weeks.

However, with calorie counting, I am always averaging around 1450 calories per day.

For example:

Breakfast: 2 coldbrews and a yogurt, 290 cals

Lunch: Chicken thigh, cucumbers, sesame dressing, 211 cals

Dinner: Pasta Bolanaise, 500 ish cals

Snacks: chips and a few small cans of coke zero, 210 cals

Total: 1211 cals.

I am hungry, but not starving and I feel like I am missing calories in my counting. How do I fix this?

Personal Theories About the World

- Factories and manufacturing are present due to modern-day jeeps. However, I suspect most production is through things like Taobao villages since it'd be difficult to maintain otherwise.

- Cancer and ALS rates are out of control due to poisoned ground water. Of course, other illnesses but overall low life expectancy. I doubt there has been sufficient research into mitigation due to the nature of the Ground.

- I haven't seen the actual currency, but the implication is coins of some sort, so it's not a total barter system but likely a decent portion due to the state of the Ground. This implies the existence of mints, likely multiple across regions. However, with mints comes the natural development of regulating bodies and banks. This also implies some sort of regional governing body.

- So far in season one, localized economies have been implied in my eyes. Specific cities have been designated for their production, like Canvas Town. I assume there is a system of barter and trade between economic zones.

- As for higher education, I do not think there are universities per say. Likely, it's in early development, and knowledge is passed and developed between generations. This could likely proceed further to organized education if there are no major global changes over the course of further seasons.

- Religion is present. However, it strikes me as early formations of it. It's not expounded upon, but its minor representation is treated as paganism. So, no

Pope or Quran yet, but given a few centuries, it could progress and take over.

- No progressive welfare systems, live and produce or die. Makes sense in a less progressed society. I think from the evidence presented that taxes are localized a d there is no need for social security due to the low life expectancy

- Literacy rates are probably total hot dog water. I do not see many/ any instances of reading. With no centralized education system, I do not have high hopes. However, it seems achievable with intention since most characters speak well.

- Though not shown, I have high hopes for the hygiene systems. Large cities are not sustainable without them. I expect semi proper knowledge of hand washing and waste management.

- The rejection of Givers is nonsensical. I can only assume a generalized social norm is the reason for it. Potential power to destroy the trash beasts that degrade your land seems too enticing otherwise. Assumes strong communication between regions.

- The pornography and printing industry is present. That makes sense.

Overall, I am a little drunk rn. I have a bachelor's in economics with a specialty in post conflict reconstruction, so it's not a perfect fit. Please give feedback. I love this show.

The Ground society seems infantile, but more toddler that fetus.

TLDR: A ranting girl who loves economics.
