What does a normal/average review look like?

Before this new manager at J1, I always only had positive reviews (at any J). Meaning in the “things you can improve” it would be small things & way fewer points compared to the “things you did well” section. A lot of times also more about things I can do on top of what I’m already doing, not actually I did something bad. This time around, we have a new process at J1 & I got more than usual points for things to improve. Two out of three are about being more of an active participant for things not strictly related to work. I know she cares more about “visibility” on top of actual work but I don’t & feel like I might switch J1 due to this difference in us. Anyways, just trying to judge where I stand in terms of layoff/firing risk. I started applying today but I still wanna know this for future reference : what kind of things are actually ok to have in the “things you can improve” section?

I also feel like both Js are increasing output expectations so idk if it’s the same everywhere now. This is kind of making me feel like maybe i should stick it out.

Should I look for a new job?

I started J1 before OE and it’s been great, almost perfect for OE. Super flexible, great time off, manager likes me & doesn’t bother me as long as I get the work done. There are days where I do nothing when work is slow. The problem - manager is going on a paternity leave next month & the team lead he chose is a coworker who doesn’t like me (feeling is mutual). This was the same person who was team lead last year when manager was on vacation & gave me a bad review. This time of course he’ll be gone longer (around 6 months) so it’ll be way worse I imagine. He does have a tendency to micromanage a little, which sucks. Of course I won’t quit, but I’m wondering if this is the end of my run at this company… am I overthinking or should I start applying now to prepare for getting fired?

Question about contingency lawyer for employment

I’m in Ontario & got laid off. I’m considering getting a lawyer & saw some that work on a contingency basis (I pay 30% of the improvement on my severance package). Before I hire a lawyer, I wanted to clarify how this works.

  1. What would happen in the scenario that the lawyer sends the letter and the employer says “see you in court” but I don’t wanna take it to court? What fees would I be liable to pay?

  2. Is it possible that we do end up going to the court, but the employer actually reduces the severance?

I’m the kind of person that’s always thinking how things can go wrong so trying to figure this out before I decide whether I should lawyer up or no

Anyone had an experience with creating a fake LinkedIn and then being locked out?

I created a fake LinkedIn with my middle name in order to apply to jobs & after I filled in the details, it locked me out saying I need to provide govt ID for verification. Has this happened to anyone before? How did you get around it? Apparently I can’t even contact LinkedIn support without signing in.

I was on-call for both jobs today. I got a call from PagerDuty for the first one, cut the call since I have that app on my phone. It was in the staging env & so we usually ignore those unless the everything is on fire. So I went about my day cooking a late lunch. Then a few min later, I got another call, found it really annoying since I didn’t think PagerDuty would call twice, also I just acknowledged that incident. Then 1hr later I found out that second call was for the other job & someone else got paged for it (L2) and they resolved the incident. So far no one said anything but I’m assuming this might come up when the call sheet is out next week for the pay. I won’t bring it up ofc. Though idk how to handle it if someone like my manager asks…
