Chair for short person with lumbar and shoulder pain – 14 hour days?

Hi, all.

I’m hoping to get some suggestions for an ergonomic chair that I can get in the UK. I’ve been using a £60 chair for the last 6 years whilst I work from home, and it’s causing problems. The main problem is that the seat is too deep and it doesn’t support my back’s natural alignment.

Because of that, I lean back too far which puts a load of pressure on my lower back (had to see a physio) and I’m getting a dowager’s hump from leaning forward all the time as well as chronic aches in my traps and neck. Some details below:

14-hour sitting sessions (I work from home 8 hours a day and then move from one side of the room to the other to sit for the rest of the evening in front of my non-work laptop)

My height: 168cm/5ft 6"

My weight: 57kg/125lbs

Problems: neck/cervical spine posture (leaning forward), rounded shoulders, aches in neck & traps, and lower back/lumber spine tightness/ache.

Budget: £700/€800/$950USD (could go up to £1000 or so if needs be if it was perfect)

I’m willing to buy second hand to bring something into budget, but need to find a good model that works for me first. I’m also a bit worried about sending this much without being able to try them out.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
