Pro at injuring self in seizures

Anyone else a pro at getting themselves injured during seizures? I am lol, I don’t have auras or known triggers at the moment (besides hyperventilation which sorta kinda? Idk that’s just what I think on said on my eeg)

My first seizure I gave myself a concussion. My second I felt really dizzy which wasn’t out of the ordinary since at the time I just started taking keppra so my mom told me to go lay down, woke up with giant bruise on my forehead. Third and forth I was laying down again sleeping and then bit all over my mouth causing me to choke on my blood…. Also I have bruises all over my legs and arms from previous seizures.

I’m struggling

I’m struggling and so are my parents. As I’m writing this I’m laying down in my bed with my body so heavy and my bones hurt so much with nausea so bad. It hurts to hear your parents pray every night for you to get better, so much so they start crying.

Today I saw a flyer that would let students like me be apart of student governing. The old me would’ve sign up for it quickly, it sucks I have to add in all the cons. I have to debate whether or not I’ll even be able to make it for the meetings with the doctor appointment, therapy appointments, more seizures in the later future, how I’ll feel that day. It sucks how I’m constantly reminded of this with icy hot, all of my pill bottles next to me.

Can’t help but cry to myself and feel sorry for how much I’ve fallen. I genuinely have regressed to a little kid. I’m trying to find motivation to help me get up and study, I used to be so good. I know feeling sorry for myself won’t help anything but I can’t help it. I want my old body back.

I want to keep pushing but my body tells me other wise. When my parents made me pray I spoke to God and asked him to please not make me a lesson.

Please don’t make me a lesson for others to be grateful for the people around them because one day they won’t be there. I don’t want to be a lesson I want a future. I want to be a doctor some day and make my parents proud. I can’t do that as my body and mind fails me. I use to be smart what happened I promise I was. I have so much of it to prove I was. This dieases took everything from me.

I feel like I’m spiraling. This always happens before I have a seizure, I don’t know my triggers but, whenever I feel like everything is falling apart I have seizures. Let’s see if this will stop me

Need help pushing thru it

Im (16F), with generalize epilisey and deal with tonic clonic seizures also struggling with post concussion syndrome/symptoms and need help getting back into my rhythm.

I have really bad brain fog, headaches and body aches and get exhusated easily. I take medication for my symptoms but im taking a break from them because my doctor says I can grow dependent on it. I feel guilty and lazy for coming home from school early due to it, I know there’s people who haven’t worst and still come to school is there any way I can push thru it?

Worst thing a non-elliptic person has told you?

A lot of people are very misinformed about epilepsy, I’ll give my two cents and had my sister who was studying to be a nurse tell me that I was faking my eeg test/brainwaves 😭 don’t know how you could fake it but okie

My life ended before it even started

I’m 16, I’m currently bawling my eyes out. Today I had to be put on a 504 at school (they are getting everything set up). Feel like my future is gone, like robbed and stolen from me. I am smart, smart people shouldn’t struggle in French 2. Today was my first day back after my previous seizure Monday. Don’t know what to do. I also got diagnosed with post concussion syndrome, I don’t know what to do, I feel stuck.

My body is still recovering from my last seizure and I had one this Monday morning in which I badly injured myself and have scars everywhere. I have nobody, I mean nobody.

Epilepsy took everything from me

My relationships, jobs, driving, health, grades, my life stopped before it even started. It felt like everyone just decided to stab my back and add salt into the open gushing wound. I give up. Before all of this, I had my summer job in which I planned to save enough money to buy a car. That dream is long gone, I had the job but soon came my epilepsy. Feels like my life is already over, today was my 3rd week of school, I was about to head over to my doctor’s appointment until I had another seizure in which I got badly injured in. I wanna cry till I can’t anymore. I miss the days when I wasn’t dependent on meds now them having to up my doses and for me to walk around with parental supervision while im fucking 16 years old.

I ended a friendship due to it. Had a friend who knew of my situation, knew why I couldn’t drive a car or get a job yet she shoved it in mines and everyone’s face that she has an id/permit/job. I know it’s horrible of me to end a friendship over that but it hurt me badly, she knew how I use to work, she knew how I wanted to learn how to drive yet she kept shoving it in my face. Even to people who weren’t in my situation found it annoying and after that the friend group just realized how toxic she was (she did more then just shove her job and permit in my face, for example talking about us behind our backs etc) it hurts me the most considering that was my best friend, then came the topic of my epilepsy which was treated as if it was a taboo topic. I never brought it up towards her because I knew my disorder was a “mood killer” but like? 😭 it made me even more angry because her “mood killer” was my reality. I’M DISABLED BECAUSE OF IT.

This disease has made me bitter and resentful. But luckily I’m now surrounded by people who care for me. Still can’t help but feel bitter and angry towards those healthier than me.

How to deal with crying fits

I had a concussion awhile back and ever since then I’ve been having crying fits, ,Iike I will cry cry cry without little to no reason, I have epilepsy and it typically happens if im out in public for too long, too overwhelmed, people do something, kinda like small things which will bother someone like “oh that driver cut me off” that will send me into a full panic state and I’ll start crying, or if I am experiencing really bad pain on my body, sometimes it happens out of no where and it’ll get bad to the point I start screaming and foaming and slurring my words. The doctor say its normal for me to experience this since im a teenager but its actually hell for me to experience. It feels like your heart is getting broken or your head is collapsing on to itself. Just need help on what to do with these, ever since I started going back to school they’ve come back.

Worst doctor experience you’ve dealt with regarding your epilepsy?

What’s the worst experience you’ve had with any doctor while dealing with epilepsy? I wouldn’t say bad but post seizure I was crying and confused in the emergency room getting a mri scan and I got told to shut up by the radiologist in the mist of it 😭

I got a concussion awhile back on June 24th due to a seziure, I was a troublesome recovery until school brought up again and my previous concussion symptoms I thought I had recovered from are now ver much present such as stuttering, peeing in sleep/on self unknowinly/stuttering/memory loss/bodyaches/mirgraines and now im beginning to lose my lack of writing. Like my writing is noticeably getting worse. Now im struggling to get out of bed. My body feels so heavy and aches, for medicine I take 1 melatonin (insomnia from concussion) and 1 keppra waking up and going ti bed 500 mg twice a day.

Is this normal ?

I’m getting worst

I started school on Monday today, ever since then my concussion symptoms have been coming back stronger. I’ve been more forgetful, my handwriting is horrible, more crying fits, body aches and headaches are the norm now, ringing in my ears, dizziness and drowsiness. My memory has gotten so bad I haven’t been able to memorize my schedule or have people repeat themselves 5 times and me still not understanding. I also have been unknowingly wetting myself. You can tell by my writing/spelling my cognitive has been discreasing, only reason it’s good right now because I have student autocorrect and Grammarly.

I don’t know what to do I feel stuck and going crazy ever since my seziure. I’m so sorry about constantly posting on here but ever since my seizure I felt insane. Like my body and brain are both betraying me. I feel so silly by saying I’m sick when I only ever had one seziure and since then it just feels like I improve cognitive then it all comes crashing down.

I’m sick in which I’m bounded to my bed in pain aching due to my body being in pain, my headaches, my dizziness, nausa, fatigue in my own piss because i keep falling in and out of sleep waking up to myself pissed in bed at my big fucking age of 16.

What do I even do? The fucking seizure was 56 days ago or whatever, I’ve improved I know I have so why is all going to shit now? I just don’t know what to do anymore. My eyes keeps twitching my vision is getting worst day by day. Please I need answers. I asked my mom to book me an appointment again, I desperately need them, my mri came out to be normal, just damnit.

I just want another seizure to happen to me so I can feel the bliss of waking up confused, unknowing feeling. It felt nice.

Wetting myself unknowingly at 16

I have had a concussion from a seizure back since June of 24, I just came back to school this Monday and I realize I wetted on myself at school. I was thought I had gotten my period but I was wearing grey pants and didn’t notice any thing. Then the odor, it wasn’t strong but I realize I had wet myself. It reminded me of when I first wet myself 2 days after my first sezuire I’ve been 53 days free till today.

Is it because the stress I put on myself during school? My handwriting has also been getting worst so has my writing. If you look at my spelling the worlds are all gunbled up and messy.

Should I be concerned

My first day of school after developing epilepsy

I came home exhausted from school, like I fell asleep so fast and it was those deep sleeps. I woke up feeling more exhausted than I ever was. Sleeping just felt so peaceful. Anyways, I was very angry and bitter towards everyone, also couldn’t focus at all because these two girls next to me kept on talking. My school is one of those pouches school which makes you put your phone in a pouch so I couldn’t put on my noise cancellation AirPods like i usually would. I didn’t have a crying session today just pure utter exhaustion. Also today made me realized how bad my memory has gotten, I had struggled to remember my schedule (which was on my phone) and stuttered all day. I would be mid sentence and forget what I was talking about. I don’t think my teachers really know about my eplisey or concussion. I only have my seizure action plan and that’s about it. I’ll bring up everything to my neurologist in my next appointment (I don’t know when my next appointment is at since they had moved my previous one up to tell me my diagnosis) also my stupid memory had made me forget my medication (okay this was also my fault I was running late no judging >:/ lol im kidding) I was struggling really hard in the morning with withdrawal symptoms and I suffered with a headache all day.

Also a little side note something that had upset me today was my friend talking about “shush your making my headache hurt” girl I have a concussion and my head is POUNDING and you don’t see me telling everyone else to shut up, luckily I didn’t take my anger out on her or anything. It’s probably me being bitter and angry towards everyone I really do hope my anger doesn’t make me say stuff that hurts people (im on keppra) just wanted to vent it out and ask for how to deal with the bitterness, exhaustion of this all. I don’t know how to come and ask my mom to ask the school for more help since im obviously struggling to keep up, I just need my noise canceling headphones or air buds to help me with my headaches. I don’t know what I will do if I were to have a crying fit at school.

Also another another side conversation, keppra makes me oddly do stuff. Like I get a boost of “do this task” such as clean my room then it stops. This is all so much and makes my head hurt. I had tension, miragiranes and every other headache you could imagine all day. This really fucking sucks

I feel like I’m going crazy and I’m losing my sanity

I want to cry, ever since my first seizure I’ve felt different. Whether it’s the fucking concussion or the medication or both. It’s driving me insane. Everyday I feel like IM regressing as a person.

Looking back at when I used to have a job, I was good at it. I really was my boss constantly bragged about me and my other co worker. I know it sounds like I’m boosting atm and he may not had meant those words but to me at least they felt true. After my first seizure you can see my health due to my concussion I received from my seizure decline. I began asking for off days. Then I could hardly showed up at work without having to leave. After that I had to be told by the doctors to stay at home as I wasn’t making any progress. Then that progress turn into rehabilitation.

The tension headaches fucking hurt and drive me mad. They feel like anxiety chest pains but inside my head and crushing it. It feels like your brain is bleeding. To describe it, it feels like your brain is trying to feel pain but you can’t feel it but it’s there. It’s crushing your head.

I feel like I’m going mad and insane. J can stop crying what’s going on with me. I know it’s not the medication I was like this before the medication. I want it all to stop. I want my old mind back without the memory problems the medication the dizziness the headaches the everything.

im really exhausted

I’m sorry for keep posting in here. I really am and I don’t mean to spam.

But I found out something to help with my crying sessions. Typically I have crying sessions when im overwhelmed or just in general. I know they aren’t side affects of keppra because I’ve been having them ever since I developed this. Keppra makes my brain drowsy, and almost a lot of times my parents have been putting me in situations where it’s REALLY overwhelming (luckily they have been a lot better at it and tend to take me home once I start crying they’re new to this whole “disable child” thing lol all jokes)

I think it’s the keppra helping me sleep because before being put on it I usally tend to cry till I would throw up. Luckily now all I do is hyperventilate lmao.

So then I would be taken home and knock out. Sleeping helps me recover. Usally I would cry for hours on end but now i just need to be put to bed given my stuff toy Bunni (I love bunnies hehe) and put to bed.

Just im chronically exhausted yk? It feels like my body is constantly in pain but honestly I’ll much rather be in physical pain than the mental pain I’ve experienced since then.

Sorry if the post doesn’t make sense or anything just im really tired woke up from a 2 hour power nap and went to eat with my family (im tired from being out and up) so yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh im so sleepy atm

I fucking hate everyone telling me it’ll be okay and just not to stress me out

Everyone keeps telling me how it’s okay or genuinely open up about my eplsiey. I went 16 years being as healthy up until I randomly developed it. I feel like a brand new person and suffer everyday because of it. I know people mean no harm when they mean it’ll okay and not to stress out. Just wish it was, I use to be smart. Now im exhausted beyond belief and people tell me im lazy and “I just need to try” well if I do try and push thru the brain fog and exhausted what do you think will happen to me hmm!!!????

It’s so stupid. This is so stupid. Sorry im just so angry, my older brother properly tried flaring up my sezuires and when I began crying he just left me there a sobbing mess for my parents to deal with. In which my mom told me “whenever you do feel stress and like your about to have one just take a deep breath” I really wish it was that simple. Sometimes she tells me im purposely doing it, feels like I’m going insane in this home.

In my crying fits my sister yelled at me to shut up and stop crying, I was on the ground foaming on the mouth, is this considered a seizure???? Idfk the doctors keep blaming it on my concussion and say I’ll be like this for a couple of months and get over it. But Mexican families am I right? 🥲 seriously though someone tell me if this is just regular teenager homorome stuff or is theyre something I should be concerned about

does anyone else experience crying fits?

I dunno if this is just because I had a concussion but after I had gotten my first sezuire I’ve been experiencing crying fits a lot, even pre keppra I would cry none stop, it’s mainly whenever I would become overstimulated or just in general. The crying can last up to hours and turn into screaming and puking. Just wanted to ask is this normal with eplitic people, I don’t think it’s a “aura” I actually haven’t had any sezuires besides that one in June. But my eeg says im eplitic so 🫠 I also had a crying fits after my eeg at the doctors so when I was suppose to do my sleeping test I was too busy crying my eyes out lmao the doctors are really nice and sweet about it though

What to know before visiting Michoacán

I’m visiting Michoacán all next week with my family on a farm, is there anything to know before hand? I’m really scared to go

What do I do

I (16F) am going back to school August 11th, I had a eeg I don’t remember I think a month after I had my first seizure ever on June 24th, my mom tried to hide my eeg but I went behind her back and read my results, I didn’t experienced any seizures during my eeg but during the hyperventilation test that’s when my brain showed high levels of seizures activity, my test results said I have a increase risk of generalized onset seizures. I don’t know what to do, I’m scared to go back to school and have another sezuire, I’m not diagnosed with epilepsy or anything like that (after my eeg my docotor just sent me and my mom home and while we were in the car I got my test results which neither my mom or me understood well since it was in docotor talk if anyone understands) should I bring it up to my doctor? I DOMT have another scheduled appointment with my doctor until August 12th and that’s just a regular checkup… ☹️
