I have my finances in order and want to finally buy a luxury convertible. I am more interested in comfort and elegance than performance. I live in SoCal and so have really nice weather most of the time. I have been driving a 15 year old sonata so I am really looking forward to the upgrade. It will mostly be me and my wife in the car but I do want a back seat because I have a baby - although they mostly go in the Crosstrek. So a 2 seater is out of the question even though a Boxter had always been my dream!

I test drove the Mercedes CLE 53 AMG and BMW M440 and really preferred the CLE 53 AMG. Those really seemed to be the only options competing in the space of mass produced luxury convertibles. I was about to order a custom build when I thought to see what used cars at this budget are around and have seen a few BMW M8 and Audi RS5 convertibles that are just a few years old. There were even some older 911s, but I generally wanted something a bit more modern on the interior than I could find below my price point.

Generally looking for advice if anyone has anything else I should check out before I pull the trigger on a CLE 53!
