I know color is a personal choice but would love feedback on the exterior options I’ve put together. Not sure if the white rims will add value over time with limited run. I know that aero kit is polarizing but want something different. Each option has aero with gloss black. Appreciate your opinion.
Can’t decide on my first Porsche:
04 Turbo cab, silver, 39K miles, asking $55K
05 base Boxster, yellow, 65K miles, targeting $20K OTD. Two reported accidents, minor damage noted.
Both Tiptronic. Would get an independent PPI before buying.
Keep coming back to the Turbo, but the Boxster leaves more cash free. Might get a newer Turbo or GTS once my daughter’s out of daycare.
Anyone owned both? Is the Turbo worth the extra money, and how much more expensive is maintenance?

As a long time Porsche enthusiasts without a realistic possibility to ever(?) buy a 911 I was able to buy something close enough today and I’m very happy!
As far as I know the exhaust is from 911 GT2 or GT3 and at least the local Porsche dealer said that the sound system is manufactured by Canton.

Totally worth it! For most of time I drive my Tesla for commuting to work, so it has only for 1500 mi after 3 months and every tank lasts about 3 weeks. I got pissed off from work a few times and driving it let me forget all the negativities lol 😂
The build is finished and I’m impatiently waiting. All my friends are expecting me to take delivery of a new slate gray neo extended cab pickup truck. I appreciate I can share this here because only two of my friends are aware of what I’ve done. Peace and love!

I am casually looking for a used 911 and ocassionally visit BAT and C&B. I merely follow these platforms for the comments because there is always something to learn. One thing I have leraned is that at this point in time, these platforms also attract a lot of scamsters and thesse sites are doing little to protect the buyers.
One of the things I have been noticing lately is shill bidders. A group of folks who enter into not an arms-length transaction to bid up the price of the car. Sometimes it is the same person but it could be people colluding together. The fix is simple like the one implemented by SOMA - require a drivers license to be scanned before you are allowed to bid. This will minimize, not eliminate, the unetihical behavior on these platforms.

It is possible that the seller, Manny, was not even employed by the dealer he claimed to have worked for. He many not even have had possession of the car he was selling. The same car was also listed on the dealer's website - I thought that these platforms prohibited this behavior (but no one from C&B even checked this to be true - something a simple search would have surfaced). Perhaps, Manny would sell this car on C&B, use a shill bidder to bid it up and then buy the car from the actual dealer to flip. I guess, this all came falling down this afternoon. C&B has done nothing or stated nothing as of this point, but Manny the seller is gone. His account does not exist.
Scamsters are everywhere and you have to do you DD. Don't rely on the folks working for these auction sites to watch out for you.
Also, recently there was a shill bid busted by the community at BAT, for a Corvette. These platforms need to vet every single buyer otherwise it just becomes a free for all. Oh, at least EBAY does have some protetions in place.

Deciding between .1 and .2 GTS coupe (PDK) as a weekend car.
If you could choose, which would you choose and why? Which is more reliable and and which will be more sought after?
Also, any reliability issues or red flags to look out for either gen? Is one generally more reliable than the other?
Edit: since many have been noting, will be close to sea level and I'm OK with older tech/infotainment.
I bought the most hated 911 just 3h ago. Went looking and then had to shake hands.
Somehow they grew on me last years and this came up “in my neighborhood “ and it had all the specs I wanted. A stick, low mileage, a sunroof , beautiful color, well maintained and no after markt stuff. Interior is great.
Drives good.
Only still thinking where to stock it as it will be a 5th motorized vehikel next to 2 other cars and 2 motorcycles and only weekends.
It’s not a 992 what I was first looking for but to drive maybe 1000 km a year it will do and keep value as they only have gone up here in our area.
