Volunteer Opportunities (evenings and weekends)

I posted this just a few weeks ago but can't find the original post and I was given so many good recommendations. I need to complete just a few volunteer hours for a college course. I need to be able to take pictures of myself doing it and I need an organization member to sign off on it. I now work full time (7-3) so I have to be able to do it in the evenings or weekends. I think it's awful to just insert myself somewhere for 4 hours and then leave but that's what I am required to do for this class. I simply do not have the time to dedicate to volunteering more than what is required of me at this point in my life (starting a brand new job, parenting, school full time, cleaning a house that has been largely neglected for a year while focusing on school and work).

Running a WIN classroom as a first year paraprofessional/pre-ACP

I have been hired as a paraprofessional at a middle school at a nearby district. I have only worked as a substitute but did a good chunk of work as a resource teacher so I have some experience with instruction. I'm just two courses from finishing my education studies degree but will still need to go through my ACP.
Yesterday the principal asked if I would be willing to take on 3 periods in the WIN classroom. I said yes, of course, I want the experience! That being said, I'm a little intimidated by the role, mainly introducing myself, setting classroom expectations, making connections, and getting the students to engage in and take responsibility for their own learning. I know I need to talk to my principal about what the role is going to look like and I will be working with team leads about the student's needs and goals, but is there any advice or tips that anyone can offer? I want to do a good job, I want the students to feel like their time in my class is intentional and that we're working towards their goals. That being said, we start next Wednesday and I haven't even seen the room yet! Maybe I need to be advocating more for myself at this point? Like I said, any advice would be so helpful.

ELM- 462 and REA-305: Complaint

I'm back to complain about classes again! This time I want to ask why these classes are requiring 10-12 slide presentations WITH a reflection VIDEO for 65 points?! That is 6.5% of my grade for an assignment that will literally take me all day, and it won't even be done very well. I'll probably still get full points though because they don't really seem to care what we turn in as long as it "looks" like it checks all the boxes. I never get to just take a quiz anymore and I'm tired of making these freaking Canva presentations every week! Please commiserate with me!

Where are all the frogs at?!

I recently got access to my old EA account and was able to download all of my expansions (I stopped buying after wedding stories was released). The thing is, when I was just playing the base game, I had no trouble finding collectibles. I haven't seen a single frog log and I've been playing the BFF household. Their used to be like 4 logs around there. Any ideas? I'm on PC no mods no cc, vanilla.

Are the Student Services Counselors AI?

What are the chances?

I've spent the last year finishing my education studies degree as fast as financially and humanly possible. I'll have a degree at the end of September and plan to start my ACP or MAT immediately following, depending on finances. My plan was to start working at the elementary school down the street in any position they put me in. My own children were going to attend the middle school two blocks over. Then the state takeover moved...quickly.

Now for my sake and my own children, I'm trying to get hired at a nearby district. I can bring them with me if I'm employed and I would literally work in the cafeteria if it was the only thing they had for me. I just saw a listing for a high school art teacher and I want it SO bad.

It was my original plan before I went to college, but at that time I thought it was foolish. I thought I needed to work towards something more secure. What are the chances that they would even want an out of practice (in terms of art), uncertified teacher, nearly 40, with zero school spirit? (I graduated from this campus and for them, football is life.)

Volunteer work that doesn't require training or orientation sessions

I'm needing to complete a minimum of 10 volunteer hours over the next 3 weeks for mini online course in my bachelor's program. I'm open to almost anything except an elderly facility. I do need to have a "site supervisor" and I need to be able to get started asap, this week. I would shelf library books for days if that was an option but I'm struggling to find easy access volunteer options.

Meta Glasses on campus

I saw an administrator at my son's middle school wearing Meta glasses during a news story. The interview was shot while he was on campus. My question is has this been a more common occurrence on your campus? Have you noticed anyone else wearing them? Opinions? I believe teachers and administrators should have reliable footage of any serious incidents that take place and maybe this is the way to ensure that but it definitely violates privacy protections.
