handlebar height

i recently started riding bmx and found my handlebars being too low. i feel too hunched over and super uncomfortable. i’m only 5’9” was wondering if you guys think i should go up to 9” bars or maybe a size bigger than that? they’re 8.5” right now. thanks y’all
