Here's my take of Animated counterpart of the g1 Autobot Broadside.

Like his G1 counterpart, he's a big fat loser. He can't even keep a date, or make friends, or even get respect by his fellow Autobots. Even with an awesome power that allows him manipulate his body by growing into titan size (similar to Hank Pym aka Giant-Man from Marvel Comics and Apache Chief from Superfriends), he's still being treated as a loser. At one point he's thinking of switching sides with the Decepticons, but then had a second thought as him joining the Decepticons won't be any better as it only going to make things worst for him. Don't let the wings fooled you as there part of the ramp for his giant aircraft carrier alt mod transportation for Project: Aerialbots. But after seeing so much flying Autobots launching and an encounter with Blitzwing a while back, he hope maybe someday when he change his body to transform into a giant jet as well, he can finally be cool and get the respect he deserve.

I actually find them a cute pair.
