First time shooting film, scans came back like this.
What went wrong? Some scans have those lines going across the screen vertically (1,3,5) while others turned out very well (2,4,6). Is there any way I could edit those out as well? Like the title says its my first time shooting film so maybe I did something wrong:
- I shoot on a Canon T50: Has an automatic aperture, auto-forwarding and other cool things.
- I shot on Kodak Portra 400nc.
- I first put the film in my camera in late July of 2025, finished it in early June of this year (2026) and got it developed in late June of this year.
- The lines started to show up towards the end of the film roll.
- Pictures 2 & 3 were taken minutes apart, and when I took picture 3 the forwarder sounded louder and took longer than usual, so my only theory is maybe it got stuck?
I apologize in advance for my ignorance, I want to learn and do better so that my next roll (Kodak Gold 200) turns out looking as good as possible. Any guidance/assistance would be hugely appreciated, cheers.
