LAFC prediction poll

After a disappointing loss to the other LA team, the Sounders go on the road to face LAFC at BMO.

This has been a very tough matchup for Seattle with 14 losses, 4 draws and only 7 wins all time vs LAFC.

In MLS regular season play, it's 10, 4 and 4 respectively and BMO is probably the toughest place for the Sounders to play in with only 2 wins and 1 draw out of 11 games.

It was 3 straight losses to start the matchup history with the Sounders getting the first win on the fifth try but what a win it was. 3-1 away in the conference finals on route to the 2019 MLS cup win.

Last year the season series was split with each team winning their home game. In Seattle it was 5-2 and in LA it was 4-0.

Hopefully we can hear some jingles bells on Sunday night and the Sounders can go into the world cup break on a high with a big away win!

Galaxy poll results

I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I was only able to watch the first 10 minutes of this game so I guess I got the best bit of play the whole game.

A rotated starting XI with 5 players who don't usually start getting the nod.

It started off well with a great through ball from Morris into Musovski who got denied by Marcinkowski and then he got his tooth knocked out later on and got subbed off.

A few minutes later and a great pass from Reus for an even better through ball allowed Gabriel Pec to open the scoring for the Galaxy.

After that, from what I've gather from match reports is that it was a bit of a sloppy game for Seattle with only a few chances to tie the game, including an incredible save for Marcinkowski from a Arriola header and a long range free kick with another diving save.

Galaxy had chances to increase the lead, with the biggest one being Reus getting past Andrew Thomas but missing the goal at the end off a tough angle, but (un)fortunately it only happened at the end with a quick counter attack and a Pec assist for an easy tap in for Matheus Nascimento.

Marcinkowski had 5 saves to get his first clean sheet in 10 games this season but unfortunately Andrew Thomas had his worst performance all year finishing the game without a single save made.

Seattle finished the game with more possession (58 vs 42), more shots overall (15 vs 9) and on target (5 vs 2) but less big chances (2 vs 3) which led to less xG too (1.45 vs 2.19).

In terms of the poll, the massive win vs San Jose in midweek brought the confidence in the team back and a massive show of support happened with an increase in "any win" percentage from 49.5 to 93.2%!

It was supposed to be a somewhat easy game with only 16 people voting for anything other than a win which means that 8.6x more people voted for a 2 goal win than a non win.

Shout out the sole person who voted for a 2 goal loss.

With that, the poll record becomes now 2-11 with one final game coming up before the world cup break.

LA Galaxy prediction poll

Another historical matchup coming up with the Galaxy traveling to Lumen to finish off Seattle's 3 game homestand in the space of a week and try to break the home teams 6 game undefeated streak this season and 22 game unbeaten home streak since last season.

More balance in the historical matchups with Seattle winning 22, LAG winning 19 and playing out 15 draws in a total of 56 matches. Goal difference is 86 - 76 in favor of Seattle.

In MLS play only it's 15 wins for Seattle, 11 losses and 14 draws and at home it's 14, 5 and 8 respectively.

After a rough start for the Sounders with only 2 wins and 1 draw in the first 10 matches played between the 2 sides, the Sounders now have 5 wins and 2 draws out of the last 10 matches which include 2 leagues cup knockout wins but a loss in the MLS cup playoffs semi finals in 2024.

Surprisingly though, at home, Seattle has only lost once since September of 2016 and twice since July of 2014 and in MLS regular season play, home and away, it's 11 wins, 9 draws and only 2 losses since July of 2016.

Let's keep the streaks going and keep chasing Vancouver and San Jose atop the West!

As a non American, this is feel like a pretty good deal to take advantage off

Like I said I'm not American and where I'm from a 20$ ticket + 4$ beer combo is pretty decent and common for a match.

I don't know how much the taxes and fees are or how much it usually is on "normal" deals but from what I know of American sports, this is pretty awesome deal and way cheaper than usually spending for those things

San Jose Earthquakes prediction poll

Another pretty balanced matchup is coming up on Wednesday with San Jose traveling north to Lumen field to face the lukewarm Sounders in match #48 in their history.

It's 19 wins for Seattle, 17 from SJ and 11 draws. At home tho, the Sounders win about half the matches with 12 wins, 8 losses and 5 draws.

From July 2021 to July of 2025, the Sounders only won 1 (ONE) game against SJ and took 6 losses, including a 12-11 penalty shootout loss in the US Open Cup fourth round in 2022.

Fortunately tho, since 19th July of last year, it's a 2 game win streak which includes a very hard fought win about 2 months ago on matchday 4.

Time to get back on track and back in the win collumn!

COME ON SEATTLE!!!!

Dirt cracking through the grass

I see dirt on the field at lumen which got me a bit worried. I checked the weather and yes, it's somewhat humid but it seems like it hasn't rained lately so why is it cracking out?

The Seahawks arent playing so it's not them lifting the carpet with their pushes and breaks off the field and its not the weather so my guess is that the field is still not 100% ready for WC play.

It's a new type of field and I would believe lumens grounds crew isn't accustomed to handling it so hopefully its just because of the installation and some bumps on the road to a perfect field. It needs to get better, just not for the Sounders right now but more importantly for the world cup. No one wants a MetLife injury situation because of the lower quality field and for Seattle to have that cloud ovet them

Sooooo this was not good... At all...

Despite facing the literal worst team in the league (0.5 points per game in the standings), getting 65% possession and having a 1.85 to 1.25 xG advantage, the Sounders couldn't do better than a 1 point road trip to Kansas City. A great start with a Rothrock goal 2 minutes in wasn't enough to overcome a MOTM performance by former Sounders goalie Stefan Cleveland.

72% of people believed an easy win was on the way, only 7.8% believed it would be anything but a win and less than that said it would be a loss of some sort. A lot of confidence coming into the game with the teams in opposite form but unfortunately that didn't matter in the end. No jingle bells this time for Seattle.

The community moves to 2-8 on the year with a Saturday Showdown coming up at home against underwhelming (?) San Diego

In San Diegos second season in MLS, they come in cold, especially considering the amazing season they had last year finishing 1st in the West and reaching the conference final in its inaugural season.

Last year, the series was split with SD winning 3-0 at home in April and Seattle winning 1-0 in the reverse fixture 1.5 months later with a Jesus Ferreira goal from a Paulie Primetime assist.
