This is the furthest I’ve ever been in the submission process and I’m curious what to expect next. I know that this could go either way, but I’m wondering if there is interest, will I likely receive a contract or will there be other steps and more meetings internally at the publishing house? Do editors like to talk directly to authors. I’m unagented fyi.

So far, editor gave me feedback and said for me to revise and resubmit. When I sent her the new version she wrote back the next morning and let me know she is taking this to her group.

Thanks!

Hi - I have a manuscript going to one of Sourcebook’s editorial groups next week for discussion and I’m wondering if anyone can share what their experience was like working with them.

It sounds like they take a different approach to publishing, relying on a lot of data and analytics to help inform what to acquire and for marketing decisions too.

Would love to know what this was like in practice and how it might have differed from the big five.

Thanks for the help!
