Quit my Job?
I guess I quit today. Had already put in two weeks exactly one week ago and ended up having a conversation with one of my managers in which I suppose I spoke too frankly about why I didn’t like the job. This was a retail job and I already have another position lined up so it’s ok. Manager told me after we (argued?) that I could go home and we’d talk about it tomorrow and I said if he sent me home I wasn’t coming back. I am stressing because my mom is convincing me I’m screwed and this was super unprofessional of me. I wasn’t trying to quit but having done so feels like a weight off my shoulders and now I have a free week to get some stuff done. Did I do the wrong thing?
New job
Wagyu arm steak we have at work rn
Hello! I know this isn’t a question about meat but I just wanted to share that I have just been offered my third meat cutting role! I have worked in meat departments for just about a year now and have cut for about 8 months and fallen in love with the craft. I was lucky to learn from some experienced cutters at a warehouse store and today was offered a department manager position at a small chain! I’m absolutely stoked to continue learning!
Mixers vs Mixing Software
I’ve never used any mixing hardware OR software. It appears the current opinion is FLX4 is overrated. People on this sub continually recommend Inpulse 500 and others. This leads me to ask whether it’s smarter to buy hardware because of the software included eg. buying FLX4 because it comes with Rekordbox, or if it’s better to buy a different controller and pay the money for software. Does the software you choose matter based on what genre you’re going to play?
Getting started
Hello, I am planing to buy basic gear (probably Pioneer DDJ FLX4) as I have heard this is a good beginner deck. I am curious about the learning curve and what type of creative/mixing liberties I will be able to take? Just interested to hear people’s opinions on dj style and/or get beginner gear recommendations. Planing to play mostly tech or minimal tech and deep/Chicago house.
2 Weeks
FINALLY got a new job. Idk why I need to tell you guys but I know some of you have worked here a lot longer than me. I’m nervous to tell my coworkers because I really respect them but I’m excited for a new opportunity. Got pay matched and offered a way better job than what I interviewed for at another company because of my experience (of which my store manager said to my face I have none). So glad to finally be away from all the melodrama of this company.
Club Management
I know every employee thinks this, but my club management is extremely low quality. We got a club manager about a year ago who was only promoted to club manager because the person running our store had a life emergency after about 4 months in the role and had to step down. This dude knows NOTHING about anything it amazes me every day how little he knows. He was explaining to my coworker (who has worked for the company for 30+ years) that the meat order we put in today comes in two days. No shit Sherlock. I understand he’s the ultimate authority at my club but it seems like he has to hide behind his title and only uses his authority to prove he’s in charge rather than to lead. He’s also hired a department manager for us who is even less informed about our day-to-day operations than he is. She refuses to come into the meat room because she “doesn’t like killing animals”, but insists that none of us have any idea how to cut meat and all we do is waste time each morning. Club manager says we are supposed to be able to throw the truck in, get this, 25 MINUTES. We are expecting about 10 mixed meat pallets tomorrow thanks to the worthless ordering system.
