Been digging into how AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI) handle product recommendation queries. Ran a few tests in different niches and noticed a pattern. Not really strange but mostly big retailers and review sites show up, small independent brands rarely make the cut, even when they have great products. Anyone else looked into this? Is this something you're actively working on for your store, or still feels too early to matter?
Been noticing more traffic mentions of AI platforms in Shopify analytics lately, and started wondering: when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity pr Claude to recommend a product in your niche, does your store actually show up? Curious if anyone's tested this or if it's even on your radar yet. Would love to hear your experiences on this.
If you are a free to play player, you already know that the 50 slot limit in your pc box can be a big issue. In an evolving meta, you cannot afford to recruit random or highly situational Pokémon. Every single slot is precious.

So the question i had was "what are the pokemons i really need as a base to experiment and play with?"

Based on the roster currently available in Regulation M-B, here are the 24 i think you should actively look for and keep in your box to build almost any competitive archetype.

Controlling the weather is fundamental. These 5 Pokémon dictate the pace of the match. (You don't have to build a weather team obviously)

Pelipper:
The best Rain setter available. Essential for activating Swift Swim on your Water types and launching perfectly accurate Hurricanes.
Access to wide Guard and Tailwind.

Torkoal:
Extremely slow (perfect for Trick Room) and indispensable for setting up the Sun. Deals terrifying damage with Eruption.

Alolan Ninetales:
Summons Snow and immediately sets up Aurora Veil, cutting the damage your entire team takes in half.
Access to freeze dry for supereffective damage on water types.

Tyranitar:
The King of Sandstorm. Huge stats, naturally boosts its own Special Defense in the sand.

Charizard-Y:
In case you want faster sun setter. C-Y does big damage under sun.

Deciding who attacks first wins games. You need a mix of Tailwind, Trick Room, and stat dropping spread moves like Icy Wind.

Whimsicott:
Thanks to Prankster, it sets up Tailwind with absolute priority. Punishes protect and fake out with encore (just be careful for dark types.

Talonflame:
Alternative to Whimsicott. Gale Wings allows it to use priority Tailwind as long as it's at full HP.

Milotic:
A bulky Icy Wind user. It drops the speed of both opponents, and its Competitive ability severely punishes anyone who tries to use Intimidate on your team.

Farigiraf:
Great counter to priority moves. Armor Tail blocks Fake Out and allows it to set up Trick Room safely.

Oranguru:
A very solid tank for Trick Room teams. Its signature move, Instruct, makes your strongest ally attack twice in a single turn.

Aerodactyl:
Incredible speed tier. Acts as an fast Tailwind setter or a deadly disrupter thanks to fast Rock Slides for flinches and access to Taunt.

Without them, your attackers will faint before they even get to move.

Incineroar:
You know.

Grimmsnarl:
Prankster lets it put up Reflect and Light Screen with priority, keeping fragile teams alive against heavy hitters.
Access to parting Shot and fake out.

Sableye:
Thanks to Prankster, it delivers priority Will-O-Wisp, Fake Out, and Quash. An incredible disrupter that completely shuts down fast physical threats and is immune to other Prankster taunts and encore.
It's really versatile can put up screens, gravity or weather with priority.
Encore+disable is disgusting.

Sinistcha:
Heals its ally upon entering the field with Hospitality, burns enemies, and redirects attacks.
Life dew for parter support.

Clefable:
Your best friend for drawing attacks away with Follow Me. Highly versatile thanks to Unaware or Magic Guard.
(Mega-staraptor I see you)

Maushold:
Lightning fast, uses Follow Me, and has the Friend Guard ability to passively reduce the damage your allies take.
After you is a nice tech.

Pure brawlers meant to break through enemy defenses.

Sneasler:
A blisteringly fast physical threat. With moves like Dire Claw and its incredible speed tier, it demands immediate answers from the opponent.
Fast fake out user, will probably hit first with it.

Basculegion:
Rain sweeper and late game cleaner. Swift Swim makes it outspeed the meta, and Last Respects hits with astronomical power after your allies faint.
Adaptability makes him hit really hard.

Kingambit:
One of the best Pokémon for closing out games in the late game alongside Sucker Punch. Access to defiant is great against all the Intimidate going around.

Garchomp:
Fast, resilient, and deals immense damage with Earthquake. A reliable pillar that never disappoints.
There's a reason Cynthia gave us ptsd.

They hit hard, ignore Intimidate, and clean up the board.

Gholdengo:
Immune to all status moves, it devastates the opponent's side of the field with Make It Rain. (Be careful of the nerf)

Archaludon:
Great under the Rain thanks to Electro Shot (which charges in one turn) and the Stamina ability.
But don't underestimate it's other abilities, it can be really flexible.

Sylveon:
With Pixilate, its Hyper Voice becomes a devastating Fairy-type attack that hits both opponents.
Really flexible can run both under Tailwind or Trick room.

By keeping these 24 core units, you'll have a highly efficient toolkit ready for any situation. Because this list is tightly optimized, you are left with 26 free slots, use them for all the pokemons you like, the megas you want to try or your favourites :)

Also suggestions or adjustments are highly valuable, so hope to see comments about this list that I made.

Hope you all can have lots of fun :)
