The eschaton begins; URGENT serial post

My name is Timothy Mulligan. I’m a 63 year old man, unmarried, and now a faithful Orthodox Christian. I’ve fled my home in Florida because of the attacks ensuing upon what I’m going tobshare here. Last night, the wee hours, and under threat of imminent death, I composed a long and detailed personal narrative that proves an absolute horror and abomination that has been perpetrated by members of the Gurdjieff work, particularly the international Gurdjieff Foundation and the breakaway Nyland group. Please forgive the sensational sounding claim or consider this five alarm wsrning to be bait. I’m a 63 year old Orrhodox Christian and retired attorney. This profile I use is not anonymous. You can verify my seriousness by posts and mostly comments in r/OrthodoxChristianity.

Because my entire post early this morning was highjacked, I’m going to start with the conclusion and a very distressing warning, and then, as I can under this attack, add text here in replies to this post.

* The Gurdjieff Foundation and Byland group’s true reason for being is to work with demonic beings to foster their perfect, entire possession of human persons. They do that by joining their members’ consciousness to demons and feeding larvae created in the subtle realm with energy. When ready and released, these abominations fly to victims, barely visible very large wasplike insects, and enter the body, moving up into position to impose its own demon consciousness, which would not be noticed or concerning to the victim. (Briefly, it can experienced as a broad, impartial consciousness.)

“Know this for sure”: the actual reason for the Orthodox teaching on LGBT

“Know this for sure: no one who is sexually immoral, involved in impurity, greedy, or an idolater has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.” Ephesians 5:5 (EOB)

We Orthodox understand salvation as the acquisition of the grace of the Holy Spirit during our lives, more and more coming to bear this grace in our souls and bodies. The grace of the All-Holy Spirit in us *is* the Kingdom of God, according to the Fathers.

Yet our God is a Holy God and will not abide in a person deliberately and persistently engaged in any kind of sexual immorality (meaning any sexual activity outside a lifelong marriage between a man and a woman open to children). He will depart from that soul. It’s a tragedy to die in that condition, bereft of grace.

So it’s not a matter of breaking outdated, arbitrary rules. It’s about driving the grace of the All-Holy Spirit out of one’s soul or impeding Him. This is empirical. It’s about Reality. If A, then B. The Orthodox Church is not compelling anyone to do or not do anything. Rather, it’s providing critical information about consequences, out of love.

The saints down through two millennia have perceived the spiritual condition of unchaste people directly and there is absolutely no question about it. It’s not “complicated,” or requiring “dialogue” and “listening,” and there is no room whatsoever for argument or objection. Hence, St. Paul says, “Know this for sure.”

Thank God for repentance, especially my own, and may it please God to continue giving me and others that precious grace. Glory to Your long-suffering, Lord! Most Holy Theotokos, save us!

Ethical/spiritual issue: defective icon from Orthodox source

I’m posting this for a reality check. I’d like to hear only from those who have been Orthodox Christians for at least a few years.

I just received the shipment of a large (16”) icon, for which I paid over $100, that tilted to the left when I hung it on the wall. Examining the back, I discovered that the catch in the hole was drilled at a clearly noticeable angle to the left.

I’m not angry, but I am surprised that this reputable Orthodox source would ship an expensive icon with this defect.

I sent them an email just now asking what they propose. As I noted in the email, I can hammer a nail into the wall toward the bottom on the right side to prevent the tilt, but in Justice I don’t think I should have to do this.

What do you folks think? Just ignore it? Ask for a discount? The source is monastic, which is all I’ll say about the source.

Thanks for your thoughts.
