Blackballed After Layoff?
Random question… I was laid off recently after working there for 4 years. I had great relationships with all my colleagues & clients. In fact 28 colleagues reached out shocked that I was one of the layoffs. I was never in trouble, on a PIP or had a negative review.
During the layoff meeting, the HR partner told me to reach out if I found another position & she’d reach out to the partner on my behalf. This was obvious lip service bc she’s completely ghosted me. The kicker, I’ve been rejected for SIXTEEN positions since being laid off. Literally sixteen of them that I am more than qualified for. It is a huge global company, hence all the jobs.
I guess I’m just wondering if anyone can shed any general light on this? It is absolutely soul crushing bc I LOVED my job. I’ve been applying elsewhere but was hoping to get rehired. Clearly that is not happening I’m just wondering why? I’ve asked two different hr partners there & they won’t answer me. I get they’re protecting the company. But what did I do?

So tonight at boxing my ponytail swung & got stuck in my eye. I had gloves on so I couldn’t get it out. I could hear Judy in my head saying “ya gotta know how to get it out” I gave my best DCC head roll & got the hair out of my eyes without missing a punch.
