Interview Madness
I'm an HR Manager. I've been interviewing for a few weeks with about four different places.
One Director position I really thought I wanted has gone sideways.
I applied, they asked me to choose a date on an electronic calendar, so I did. I received the invitation but it did not state if it was zoom, teams, a phone call, etc. I emailed and no one answered. The date and time arrived and no one called. I emailed again and was told I would receive a new invitation for a zoom call.
Fine.
They must have included another applicant on the email stating a zoom invitation would be forthcoming because I also received an email from another applicant stating she would be happy to have a second tier interview.
Bizarre.
Then today comes, it's the zoom interview date, I log on and see two people sitting there. Great!
I then realize the other person sitting there is another applicant. Again.
The HR consultant tries to tell me I logged on at the wrong time and I politely tell her the email stated 9 am and here I am.
She then kicks the other person off the interview.
The questions she asked me were very loosely related to the job and to be honest I don't think she knew anything about the role. I could have provided nearly any response and she would have been ok with it.
She then tells me to put aside Friday at 2 for a "Teams" meeting with the owner. In the same breath she tells me "if" I am invited for a further interview she will let me know.
At this point I hope she emails me because while I will not accept this job if it's offered, I cannot wait to see what the owner is like.
I have never in my 30+ year career run into anyone or any organization that was this out to lunch.
Anyone else had awful interview situations?
Disability Management [Canada]
I'm an HR Manager . I have an HR assistant who disclosed ro me she was recently assaulted. It was violent and she has not been herself for weeks. We do not have long term sick pay and she is horrified about the possibility of submitting a Functional Abilities statement that would illustrate cognitive issues. She's very concerned someone will step in and do her job if she's off or limited in scope and the employer will attempt to terminate her. Advice is appreciated.
Nearly 40 years
Hi everybody
I'm 63 this year and got my first bladder infection at 24. I've had testing done and systoscopies (sp) 2 of them. They've concluded cystitis.
I've had periods of time where I'm semi ok, but also periods where the symptoms are constant. I don't get burning, but I do have frequency and urgency, as well as abdominal pain and discomfort. It can feel like cramping almost.
I found a wonderful probiotic about 2 years ago and honestly haven't had symptoms since then, unless this week.
I cannot believe after all these years and all the doctors visits I haven't been able to control this. It's depressing and maddening.
I don't take baths anymore and haven't for years for fear of triggering symptoms.
I just got off a round of antibiotics (that as usual started to work then seemed to give me side effects) so I'm waiting to see what happens, just drinking water like mad.
I've gone through the song and dance of avoiding certain foods, etc., and I really don't know what else to do.
So happy I found this subreddit.
Sisters
They sleep together all the time. We adopted Millie our orange over a year ago and Duchess about six months ago. At first Millie was having no part of Duchess. How they're inseparable.
We lost two Chihuahua babies over the last few years. Those dogs were like children and I still have moments where I sob. We adopted Millie first in 2024 (orange) and Duchess second last November. They're wonderful and I'm so glad they're with us.
