Window cleaners

We’re newer to The Netherlands and are in our first rental. This hasn’t been mentioned to us by neighbours or the landlord at all.

Some random guy has, twice now, come and cleaned our windows. We’re on the ground level so can easily clean them ourselves. This is a well known scam back in Australia so I paid no real mind to it.

Today he came to the door demanding payment. He explained he’s done it for free twice and now needs payment and will take cash. I asked him why and for what. I let him know I’ve never asked for the windows to be cleaned, we’ve not reached out to anyone to have them be cleaned. Like it’s all well and good for you to clean them but until I ask it’s not from my pocket. The conversation went back and forth. He showed me a list of ‘confirmed addresses’ with ours on it. However I too can make lists.

Is this a scam or is this more the expectation? Surely if it was required by landlord and the building they would pay. I figure I can just actually enquire about their services should this be necessary.

WIBTAH if I invite my daughter’s friend on a trip, and not her sister?

ETA:
I will not be extending this offer as per the advice given. Thank you for giving me the different perspectives to think about. This was never intended to be cruel, and is exactly why I asked before mentioning anything to anyone. I was absolutely naive with this. Thank you again.

Original:
Our family has made friends with another family. There’s me, my husband and my three kids 7F, 4F and 3M. For their family it’s the mum and dad, and their three kids 10F, 7F and 1M. We’ve been friends for 4 years, when our 7 year olds were 3. They met at playgroup and became best friends quickly. This instigated play dates outside of playgroup and is what’s developed the family friendship.

I’m planning on taking my 7 year old to Disney, which is in another country from where we live. I was also considering extending the offer to bring their 7 year old as well. All expenses paid by me. I think this would be a wonderful trip for them both to experience together. And we’ve each had each other’s kids for extended periods as needed, so that wouldn’t be a concern.

My concern is that while it’s clear to me that these two are best friends, every hang out session tends to involve their older daughter as well. My daughter has fully embraced this, they have their own close friendship as well. They met when the older daughter had no friends of her own, and she’s attached quite a bit more to my daughter than my daughter has to her. That said, there’s never been moments of exclusion. My daughter genuinely loves their oldest. It’s just a very clear difference in relationships compared to her best friends. The older daughter has expressed concerns about the possibility of being excluded previously.

WIBTAH if I invited my kid’s best friend to this trip but not their oldest daughter? We don’t have the finances to cover both. I genuinely would love to bring my daughter’s best friend but don’t want to upset or offend anyone.

TLDR WIBTAH for inviting my daughter’s best friend on a trip but not her friends’ older sister?

My lorikeet-esque eyes

Throwing some blue, lots of green then some brown in. I’m the whole rainbow.
