Vac schemes - how many should I apply to?

I’m about to start third year. On track for a first at a Russell group but have limited work experience which is scaring me. I’ve been emailing high street firms for some informal work exp but no one’s biting yet. Did work experience at a small firm in college, I am also part of my unis legal clinic. I want to be a family solicitor.

How many vac schemes should I be applying to? I understand the window opens soon and I have never made an application before so I’m aware I’ll probably get rejected a bunch. I’d ideally want a winter vacation scheme taking place in December but will settle for Easter or summer after grad if I have to

Looking for legal work experience

I have just finished second year with a first, looking for some unpaid work experience in a firm or any law related entity or business.

If anyone knows somewhere I’m likely to be considered it’d be much appreciated :)

How to get work experience entering third year/ advice on vacation schemes?

I am about to go into third year law at a Russell Group university. My grades are pretty good, I have finished first year with 71%.

However I’m really anxious as the only legal work experience I have was in college where I worked in a high street firm for a week. I am also part of my university’s legal clinic. But I just feel lost on where to start with getting more work experience and I feel like I’ve left it late. I’ve heard the application process for vacation schemes is really exhausting and I suppose I’ve just been intimidated by it until now and avoided it. Any advice on next steps is appreciated as I’m willing to put the work in, only wish I’d done it sooner!
