Allah May Protect You Through What Hurts You

‘Abdullāh ibn Mughaffal narrated:

A man met a woman who had been a prostitute during the days before Islam, and he began to flirt with her, until he reached out his hand towards her. The woman said: “Stop! For Allah, for He has removed shirk and has brought us Islam.” The man left and later hit his face against a wall, cutting it open. He then came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of what had happened.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “You are a servant for whom Allah has intended good. When Allah, intends good for a servant, He hastens the punishment of his sin in this world. And when He intends evil for a servant, He withholds the consequence of his sin from him, until he is brought to account for it in full on the Day of Resurrection, as though it were Mount ‘Ayr (in Madinah).”

Men Who Are Effeminate (Feminine)

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

>"The Prophet (ﷺ) cursed effeminate men (those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those women who assume the manners of men, and he said, "Turn them out of your houses ." The Prophet (ﷺ) turned out such-and-such man, and `Umar turned out such-and-such woman."
Sahih al-Bukhari 5886

Narrated Abu Hurayrah:

>The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the man who dressed like a woman and the woman who dressed like a man.
Sunan Abi Dawud 4098

Matters that are naturally shared between both men and women, such as everyday tasks, neutral clothing like cotton socks or watches, driving, cooking, and standard skincare etc. are fully permissible for both men and women because the baseline assumption in Islam for non-worship matters is permissibility.

Anything that is specifically designed for, tailored to, or culturally recognized as belonging to men is prohibited for women to adopt. This includes wearing clothing fashioned specifically for men, taking on male hairstyles, shaving the head, or mimicking masculine gait, speech, and roles.

Anything established as distinctly feminine is strictly forbidden for men. This includes wearing women's garments, such as skirts or high heels, applying makeup, adopting feminine gestures, wearing silk, gold, or jewelry, and styling hair in ways specific to women.

All of this is taken from ahadith, books and works of major scholars and their students.

Leaving salah is worse than zina

Assalamalaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

I think it's fair to say that zina is one of the most disgusting things a person can do, violating not only their own honor but also that of their family and wali, all for a fleeting moment of excitement. I’m comparing skipping salah (prayer) to zina because, unlike zina, abandoning prayer without a valid reason has almost become normalized and even justified. You’ll see people skip prayers out of laziness, and no one bats an eye. But if someone commits adultery, people react negatively, feel disgust, and often gossip.

I’m not saying zina is not serious, it is disgusting and sinful, but leaving off even a single prayer is worse in the eyes of Allah. Zina is disobedience to oneself and one’s family, but abandoning salah is direct disobedience to Allah. The one who persistently leaves off prayer is considered worse because Allah commanded Muslims to pray, and the prescribed punishment for abandoning it is hellfire.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
The covenant between us and them is the prayer, so whoever abandons it has committed unbelief.

You wouldn’t befriend someone known for adultery, yet people will spend time with someone whom Allah hates, whom the angels hate, someone who is considered a kafir for abandoning prayer, while the adulterer, though sinful, remains a Muslim.

Sheikh Salih al-Fawzan explained:
"What is intended by 'abandoning' is not performing the action. So if the time of prayer arrives and he doesn't pray in congregation, or even by himself, if he does this intentionally then he has disbelieved. So it is upon him to repent and to return back to his religion and hold fast to his prayers and the rulings of his religion."
When asked if this applies to someone who intentionally leaves even one prayer, the Shaykh replied:
"Yes."

People often cite Sahih al-Bukhari (2475) to argue that committing zina is kufr, but scholars have clarified that the kufr mentioned here refers to the loss of obligatory iman, not the foundation of iman. In fact, the hadith goes on to apply the same wording to drinking alcohol, stealing, and plundering, none of which constitute major kufr unless one declares them lawful. Rather, the person loses obligatory iman while committing the sin, which is why zina is a major sin but does not constitute major disbelief.

Curing Jinn Posesion And Evil Eye By Reciting The Qur'an

The Qur'an is the uncreated speech of Allaah, the Exalted and it is from the most powerful of matters, alongside Tawhid, firm Eemaan (faith), and Taqwaa (piety, righteousness) that constitute a fortress and protection against the devils and the magic of the magicians. The following two files contain a collection of verses that are useful for Ruqyah (Islamic incantations against magic).

There is no problem with treating those afflicted with epilepsy, the evil eye and magic by reciting the Qur'ān. This is known as ruqya, where the reciter recites and blows on the afflicted. Performing ruqya with the Qur'an and supplications is permissible.

The impermissible ruqya involves shirk, such as supplicating to other than Allah and seeking help from jinn and devils, actions of charlatans who call upon unknown names.

One must beware of those who blend Qur'ān recitation with shirk, misleading others into thinking the Qur'an is being used properly.

The Islamic Ruqyah From the Qur'an

These are all of the surahs, passages and verses in the Qur'an that are specifically mentioned in the Sunnah or have been proven to be useful and effective through collective experience in combatting the devils, magic and its effects.

  1. Al-Fatihah
  2. Al-Baqarah 2:1-5
  3. Al-Baqarah 2:102 (The Verse of Sulayman, Harut and Marut)

The Islamic Ruqyah From the Qur'an Against Magicians and Their Magic

This one is shorter and includes those verses that relate specifically to the magic of the magicians, its falsehood, and its invalidation, and these are very effective.

  1. Al-Baqarah 2:102 (The Verse of Sulayman, Harut and Marut)
  2. Al-A‘raaf 7:113-120
  3. Yunus 10:79-82
  4. Taa Haa 20:65-70
  5. Al-Nisaa 4:76
  6. Al-Falaq 113
  7. Al-Naas 114

Anyone who is affected by magic should strive to take control of their own affair and to recognize that magic only occurs by the permission of Allaah, that it is a trial and a test, and that it is breakable through the Tawhid of Allaah, through firm knowledge, faith and through the Qur'an and the supplications mentioned in the Sunnah. Unfortunately, most people do not realize that their excessive reliance upon others to help them in their predicament, and their seeking of a quick fix solution is a manifestation of weakness that allows the magic to persist or to recur again. The susceptibility to magic is often a result of years of negligence, being far from the deen, from Allaah, and not being firm upon Tawhid, so a person has to make broad and wide-ranging set of changes in order to combat this evil.

The Consequence of Speaking the Truth

Imām al-Dhahabī said in al-Siyar (14/166):

“Wallahi corruption has become widespread. Innovations have appeared. The Sunan (Sunnah) have been hidden. Those who speak the truth have become few. Rather, if a scholar were to speak the truth with sincerity and clarity, a number of the scholars of his time would rise against him, despise him and pronounce him ignorant. There is no power nor might except with Allah.”
