First ground to air dribble attempt in comp. How do I improve it?

Particularly I'm not sure why I lost so much control from the first touch. This led me to use so much boost to get back to the ball.

How do I launch it with control and keep my touch close? This is D3 2s for context.

How do I get better at wall plays? I'm D3 in 2s and 3s and I can't do anything off the wall

By wall plays, I'm not referring to anything fancy.

What I mean is when the ball rides up the wall, the only thing I can do with consistency is drive my car into the ball to drive it forward.

Once the ball is slightly off the wall, my consistency plummets. I either whiff the ball or hit the ball with a weak dodge.

I see golds and plats do this fine, so I must be missing something fundamental. I typically use free air roll for everything air roll specific, but I've seen some videos recommend DAR for wall play. Why is that?

Does anyone have tips for attacking the ball off the wall, judging from height of ball, speed of car, and distance of ball from the wall?

Is TDF ticket checkout not working for anyone else?

I keep getting screen when checking out. Do I need a Stripe customer ID or something? The TDF email said that checking out was supposed to become easier...

How crazy is it to run a marathon distance for the first time before racing it for the first time?

Hear me out for a sec, so I'm on track to completing my 9+1 to qualify for the 2027 NYC marathon. This year I ran the RBC Brooklyn half marathon which was my first official HM race, but my first half marathon distance was actually the virtual United earlier this year.

Mentally, running the virtual united half made prep for the Brooklyn half so much easier. Every challenge along the way I was reminded that this was something I had "done before", and ultimately I hit my time target for the Brooklyn half.

Now a marathon is a very different beast from a half, and I wouldn't want to do the distance anywhere near my actual marathon training block like I did the half, so added fitness benefits isn't necessarily the goal and it's primarily mental.

Of course to do this I would need to train for this practice run, which I did for the virtual half as well. I would target a slow/zone 2 pace without a time target for the marathon and injury prevention would be a top priority. I would most likely do this next winter. Is this crazy, or am I onto something?

Brooklyn Half medal engraving in Manhattan?

Where can I get my medal engraved in Manhattan? Does NYRR do engravings at the run center, or is there a go-to place for engravings?

There was confusion about United Half wave assignments on this thread not being consistent with NYRR best paces (fast paces in slower corrals and slow paces in faster ones).

Was it ever discovered why this happened? Should we expect the same inconsistent assignments for the Brooklyn half?
