Song Similarity

When she described Petal as experimental, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I feel that it sounds like an extension of Eternal Sunshine and Eternal Sunshine deluxe/Brighter Days Ahead.

The one that sticks out the most to me so far is how Never Get Over Me feels like a sequel to Dandelion. Maybe I’m crazy, but I catch myself singing them intertwined in my head. You can sing opposing lines from them and it works, I swear.

Kiss Me feels like a sibling to Supernatural.

Feel free to drop other songs of hers in general that do this, but Petal feels like ES part 2.

likelihood of oral thrush from inhalers with dry mouth

I am not asking for medical advice.

Just curious about commonality of oral thrush from corticosteroid inhalers in people predisposed to dry mouth from medications.

Is the typical rinse method recommend post inhaler use ‘enough’ in individuals with an already drier mouth/throat? Or is the risk generally higher?

something realized when it comes to the “blackiana” era

I will preface by saying this is likely not a riveting or new take, but I have not personally come across it.

Obviously, where we are now, more people than ever are aware of just how different she looked, sounded, and presented for years of her career. As someone who listened to a good amount of her music throughout this time, I’m a little disappointed in myself for not being more wary, or questioning the tanness being “Italian roots”, etc. All of that to say there was a huge cognitive dissonance among the fans during all of that.

HOWEVER, it is incredibly interesting to me that another white artist she collaborated with on one of her earliest successes did not get through this era in time unscathed. Iggy Azalea.

I remember the discourse being swift and immediate when Iggy started getting big back then. Australian gal suddenly has this accent, using racially charged slurs/phrases in early freestyles. Trying to fit in to the rap culture with surgery. It was frowned upon, she was frequently called out and attacked, and was subsequently “laughed” out of the career she was building. Obviously she has kept releasing stuff, no idea what she’s up to now.

Just mind boggling to me when I realized that the public was beyond capable of clocking this shit, calling it out, and saying it’s not okay. How the hell was Ariana SO successful at getting away with it, without even half the criticism that surrounded Iggy? Iggy was called out by and mocked by POC artists who went on to work with Ariana. HOW the hell???? Again, I fault myself as well for not being more critical back then, but I was a lot younger.
