Icon, Peach, Arrow need a real rival force

With Mayu and Yuzuki back, we are currently getting a full on Icon, Peach, Arrow show with them greeting everyone together before shows and closing shows together with a smile. Which is fine all in all, but doesn't give the company the spice to make it interesting.

A great face, stable or team can only show it's real strength if it has a rival force. The natural rivalry would be Mayu-ism vs Sareee-sim, but with the Sareee team not being there regularly, it is not sufficient currently. Marigold also needs to find a way to have the same energy in terms of rivalries and matches, as when they are fighting outside forces like Marvelous and ChiChi, but it is currently rarely the case.

But who should be their rival group then?

Should it be DR, naturally as the heels to the ultra babyfaces?

Should Kizuna turn her back on Yuzuki when she comes back and form something like a New Arsion with Shinno and Seri? Since Marigold still doesn't seem to have a clearly established identity, they could rebel against the Stardom like glittery Mayu-ism with the more cold and shooty Arsion-ism of their parents.

Should Aono Miku, Kouki and Gochika finally have enough and rebel against the constant barrage and ridicule from fans and against clearly not being accepted partly due to their AWG past?

Does Sakurai with La vie en rose want take the spot as the real top group from them?

Maybe my ideas are crazy and just a thought experiment to fill the void that has been there since the Ota Ward show before the Dream Star, but I feel like they are in desperate need of more spice.

Yuma Anzai (AJPW) to be the main star in new television series

The program description reads as follows:

Inspired by the legendary TV director Matsudaira Kunimitsu—known as “Ramen D”—young director Ippei Date plunges into the television industry.

Aiming to revive the once-popular but now-flagging segment “Ramen Investigation Squad,” he takes the lead on the front lines of reporting.

As he travels across the country visiting ramen shops, he meets shop owners and fellow ramen enthusiasts, and is moved by the passionate dedication of those who stake their lives on ramen—all while striving to grow both the show and himself in this passionate food drama.

Anzai stars as the main character Ippei Date and the show will have 8 episodes to be broadcast in December.

He is also going to star as the main character in the horror action comedy Kai that is to be filmed this year and is set to challenge Kento Miyahara for the Triple Crown on the 29th this month.

Back cover of this weeks Shupro

The Leave is a real estate company that sponsors All Japan and NOAH and has made it a tradition the last weeks to present alternatives to the Shupro covers called Shukan Leave. Sometimes the book store workers get confused actually put the magazine with the backside as the front cover on the shelfs.

This week the front is New Japan's G1 and the backside promo is Yuma Anzai challenging Kento Miyahara for the triple crown.

The text reads as "Into the hottest summer of the pro wrestling world"

The side text reads: Triple Crown Champ Miyahara with his 8th defense. The "best looking guy in the world" challenges him at Ota Ward.

The above text reads: Peace and Trust. Leave any empty rooms to us.

Former back covers had NOAHs Ozawa, Hideki Suzuki with the Triple Crown trophy and more.

Kento Miyahara vs Ren Ayabe - Pre-fight hype video with ENG subs (AJPW)

Decided to put some subs on the video before the Miyahara vs Ayabe fight, simply because I really like the video packages All Japan puts together for their big title fights.

u/Tokyogerman — 25 days ago

Universe Show Graphics

Sorry for the unimportant, very minor topic. I searched the sub if someone had made a topic on this before and didn't find it in 30 seconds so I made this one.

I never realized until now that already for the last two months the regional shows don't have their own match graphics anymore on Wrestle Universe.

Some might find them a bit too fake, but I always liked that you had a theme for the tours with the graphics and every wrestler in the promotion basically got their turn "in the spotlight".

The thumbnails for the regional shows now often look very underlit, often too far away and in general unappealing, like someone just randomly took a screenshot from the show and didn't really adjust the lighting. (The Marigold youTube has the same problem, they really need to work on their thumbnail game.)

I'm fully prepared for every telling me that the current ones are better though!

AJPW Junior Champion Dan Tamura turns out to be a Dragonball character.

Dan Tamura weighed in above the 105kg weight limit for Juniors in All Japan, but then revealed a big secret to the world.

This is from the recent press conference for the World Junior Title Match between Dan Tamura and Naruki Doi (Mr. Saito).

Important addition to the Dan Tamura weight story after the full press conference was released

Dan weighed in at 106kg and was told by Doi he was out and a heavyweight. The trainees then took Dan's suit jacket off and Dan weighed in at 96kg.

Doi questioned this and asked Dan if he is a Dragon Ball character that always has a 10kg jacket on.

Dan later explained to the journalists that he always wears this jacket ever since birth, since he thinks training is important.

Since Dan Tamura is now officially 96kg the title match is on.

Today's show already up to watch on AJPW.tv

Considering Wrestle Universe usually takes two to three days for VODs, All Japan seems really fast, just a few hours after the show and it's there!

Backstage comments also up on the official youtube channel. Looks like Yuuya Aoiki will be in the Junior Festival as well. (Yuma Aoyagi was joking on his youtube channel yesterday, that he should also take part as depending on the day he is at 98 kilos or 101.)
