Final Bonus Prize is coming soon... Get ready!
Where do you think the final bonus prize for the Great Canadian Treasure Hunt will be?
Prince Edward Island?
Alberta?
Northwest Territories?
Another one in Ontario?

Did Manitoba have two articles posted for the prize? I noticed The Northern Miner delisted an article from their website, as it now says it was posted October 30th, 1995.
It had me wondering though, why did they publish this article and then remove it shortly after?
"ODDS’N’SODS — Manitoba’s mining past" (Delisted)
I had read through this multiple times, thinking this was a clue for the bonus prize in Manitoba, to realize that they delisted it and it is not for the treasure hunt...
The actual bonus prize clue is titled:
"Treasure Hunt: Manitoba – Where a storybook hero led Canada to one of its greatest mining camps"
The activity of people looking for the treasure and bonus prizes appears to have slowed down quite a lot, unless everyone is now just searching for it independently? How is everyone feeling though?
The treasure chest in Quebec and Saskatchewan have not been found yet, UNLESS, The Northern Miner is taking a significant amount of time again to release their updates. Additionally, they STILL have not updated their website to show that Novia Scotia has been found... it's been about 3 weeks now...
Has the company just stopped caring about the treasure hunt?
Does anyone know why The Northern Miner is taking ever so long to update their website? The clues page still has no mention of Nova Scotia being found. Nova Scotia is not listed on there at all...
The news page also mentions nothing about the Nova Scotia prize being found. Those articles that mention the Nova Scotia solve are external. All of a sudden they randomly posted that interview of the treasure being found in Nova Scotia without any indicator on their website.
Also, just wanted to mention that another user here in the reddit group said "Northern Miner is doing an amazing job of hosting this hunt and does not need to improve on ANYTHING". I think it's hilarious for someone to make such a big statement as that, when The Northern Miner broke their 5km rule for the Toronto prize location, and also are really struggling to announce the prize solves as being "loud and proud" when Nova Scotia has not been listed on their website, and the New Brunswick treasure took over a week to announce... lol.
Just wanted to mention that the article for the Nova Scotia treasure heavily hinted at Cape Breton Island as the area of interest for where the treasure was likely expected to be hidden, and the treasure was found in Cape d'Or, over 400km away (4 hours and 42 minutes drive).
This means that the Quebec bonus prize and the Saskatchewan bonus prize can be practically anywhere in each province...
Also, has anyone been able to decode/decipher the article and find how Cape d'Or would have been revealed as the answer?
To those who have watched the video of the latest bonus treasure chest that was found, there are lots of clues as to where it was found, at Cape d'or Coastal Park:
They parked the car, ate lunch at the main viewing platform which overlooks the lighthouse, they were going to walk to another platform (which I cannot find) and ultimately walk down to the lighthouse, and somewhere between the two "platforms" they found the bonus treasure. The treasure was "underneath" something. They pulled out the treasure chest and did their riverdance routine, LOL.
What do you think the treasure was "underneath"?
Is a plaque that says "in memory of", and talks about the significance of a person, considered a "memorial" or no?
The rules say that the treasure chest is not near "graves, cemeteries, or memorials".
I know this might be a dumb question, but I am getting mixed responses from two people I asked.
I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I wanted to say that all of the bonus prizes so far, except for the one found somewhere on the Toronto Islands, have been located near magnetic anomalies.
For some unknown reason, the Toronto Islands bonus prize is not related to any magnetic anomaly. Toronto is not known for having any major magnetic fluctuations. The closest small magnetic anomaly extends from Niagara Falls to Pickering, but those are both east of Toronto and far enough away for Toronto to not be affected. The Toronto Islands themselves are made from sand deposits, and therefore, are not known for causing any compass abnormalities.
Another thing to note with the compass is that the specific places where the bonus prizes have been found so far, have likely nothing to do with the compass at all. The specific location of where the bonus prizes have been found (specifically Tetagouche Falls and Bonanza Creek in particular), in relation to the "script" or "marker", are not west from the main geological feature or marker.
Therefore, I am starting to think that the compass is most likely related directly to the main prize in some way, or is a giant red herring to throw everyone off. There is no guarantee the compass applies at all to the bonus prizes.
This is just my take on the compass, and I could be wrong with my thoughts, but I figured I would share it regardless.
Reddit user who found the New Brunswick bonus prize:
I am about 99% certain that the user who posted a literal photo of the chest online on reddit a few weeks ago in New Brunswick asking if it was the chest was in fact the person who found the bonus prize. Something weird is that they claimed to have submitted the form, and did not hear back from the Northern Miner until at least a week later.
"There was a gold-ish bar inside with a sixteen character code but I never heard back after my form submission."
"Submitted the code to the form a little over a week ago"
"Our goal is to inform Treasure Hunters via social media and email ASAP when a prize is claimed."
The Northern Miner claims that they announce prizes as being found as soon as possible, but over a week to verify the claim and announce it is quite interesting...
Trends for the bonus prizes so far:
Britannia Beach Scenic Lookout appears to have been found on the ground, as the husband mentioned "looking up did not work out".
Tetagouche Falls was found on the ground in some rocks, as shown in the users post of the location (slight possibility it could have slighty shifted from the original location because it was face down in the picture).
Kleanza Creek Provincial Park was found in a "hole" in the ground.
Therefore, keep your sight focused on the ground and underneath natural and man made objects.
There are two places that I want to go to and search to ensure the main prize is not there, but both places have been mentioned to contain poison ivy in the "clearing of the overgrown".
Would the organizers of the hunt, and the person who chose the locations of the treasure chest, allow them to be placed where there is poison ivy?
Just wanted to mention that the Saskatchewan treasure clue was released 9 days after subscribers had received the clue, giving subscribers a huge lead into searching for the Saskatchewan treasure.
I am quite surprised that it took longer than a week for them to release the clue honestly, and the same day they release it, they release another clue for the main prize... lol.
A few months ago, I spent hours remastering and extending the audio to the best of my ability. I hope you all enjoy!
Although I never had the opportunity to experience this version of Spaceship Earth, I really wish Disney brought it back.
After months of following this treasure hunt, and venturing out to over a dozen different locations across Ontario in search of the gold (with a few more locations on my list to still check), I am starting to consider that the main prize may not even be located directly at a site related to mining, or any significant landmark at all.
Whoever planned this treasure hunt likely intentionally chose a final location that will not be found by the general public, and you have to think, thousands of people have searched many sites across Canada related to mining, and the treasure still has not been found. Some locations have been searched extensively by thousands of people to the point where some locations look significantly different to how they looked before the treasure hunt began...
One thing that the treasure planner has full control over is where the treasure is placed. I suspect that as more clues are released, we will soon learn that you have to use one site location (Location A), and go from there to a secondary spot (Location B) where the treasure is actually hidden. Location B has already been said to be in a spot that the general public will not randomly find.
For example, the treasure location on the Toronto Islands was designed in this similar fashion.
What are your thoughts on where you think the main treasure chest is?
I was an undergraduate student who graduated in 2023, and I am trying to remember the process that the university follows after our graduation with regards to our microsoft accounts.
I remember getting an email saying that my email would be closed, but I cannot remember anything the email specifically said (if anyone has a copy of the email and can send me it, I'd greatly appreciate it).
I know that everyone keeps access to their account for about 1-2 years, but I forgot to delete my microsoft word files from my OneDrive before I lost access.
I was wondering if the files eventually get permanently deleted by the university during the closing process, or do they exist somewhere permanently forever?
"Pilot Butte" in Cree meaning "Lookout Point", is a town in southeastern Saskatchewan. As of the 2021 Canadian census, Pilot Butte had a population of 2,638.
The morse code in the video clue is "2638".
The entire premise of the Great Canadian Treasure Hunt revolves around lookout points, as seen with both Ontario, British Columbia, and Newfoundland treasure locations.
I think the location for the treasure in Saskatchewan will be found very quickly.
Tried to access ChatGPT on cellular and on wifi, it is down on multiple devices. Does anyone know what is happening?
