In the interview before the game was launched the devs said "There is no story connection to the previous title", which made some CV1 fans disappointed and probably dropped CV2 because of this.

I'd like to make a legit statement that it's a big misunderstanding.

Justification 1: They said the story of CV2 is "not connected to CV1" could also mean CV2 is not a direct "Continue" story after the end of CV1. Common misunderstanding of little context.

OR

If you think the reason above is invalid because in an another interviewing video with the director and the producer stating that CV2's story happens in "another world"

I'd like to explain that it could mean "Another timeline".

In the beginning of the game when you have to climb to the top to meet Lavinia; she was talking to herself "Another world, snuffed from existence" while watching an island, where a hero once was, being exploded, if you think about it that "Another world" can also be called "A timeline" too.

This idea is further supported by the lore in picture 3. It says the world exists alongside countless parallel worlds, so "Another world snuffled from existence" from Lavinia means "A timeline has been destroyed"

Now you must be wondering, "Then how is it even related to the game since it's 'another timeline' ", in the last picture (and most of CV1's weapons that appear in the game) stating that they are drifted / came from BEYOND the frontier which implies the events of both games take place in the same timeline.

Even if it's not the same timeline (Let's say, CV1 is V1 Timeline and CV2 is V2 Timeline), with the power of Lou and the upcoming DLC, I can confidently say that IT'S POSSIBLE.
