Thoughts on Armored Hoodies?

Thoughts on Armored Hoodies?

Been loving my xsr900. Took her down to Sandy Hook in NJ last weekend and I was dying in traffic from the heat, and it was only in the low 80’s. For my current jacket I have a ce AA leather jacket that is comfy and looks great, but I didn’t account for how hot it would get and am looking for something more breathable with the same level of protection.

I’ve seen these ce AA hoodies by NBT and I’m really tempted to get one as they seem ideal and comfortable, but really curious to hear from those more experienced with proper gear and hot weather. Summer isn’t even here yet and it’s only gonna get hotter.

Not sure if my concerns are justified. Just looks goofy/too good to be true that it’s a hoody but if it works it works?

Edit: didn’t expect so many responses so quickly. Thank you all for the recommendations! I will be looking for a mesh jacket instead for summer riding.

My Yamaha XSR900!

Before I get flack for buying a decently powered bike as a first, just wanted to say I know myself, know I’m responsible, have experience with Motorsport and high power machines, and have been riding my friends bikes on and off for ~2 years now. Had to get that out there!

I’m just over the moon to have my first bike and happy to be solidified in the community. If anyone has any tips/tricks for someone somewhat new, I welcome it!

Always wanted a bike that was quick, not uncomfortable like a sport bike, and not heavy/big like a cruiser, cornered well, but it had to have a retro style to it. This option was a toss up between this and a CB650R. I wasn’t the biggest fan of how the Honda felt when sitting on it, and I liked the view of having a lot of bike in front of me when sitting on the XSR. The Honda felt like I was over the front wheel.

Previous owner has a slip on exhaust on it, handle bar, fork, and frame sliders, and a few other small things done to it. Overall really happy with it. Can’t wait to get paperwork done at the dmv and get it out on the road!
