Which Carnatic musician are you obsessed with?
Mine is TM Krishna. What bhavam he brings to the performances! Pure abstract artistry. Favourite songs on yt are Gadavajana and todi rtps, Endaro, Manavyala, kalyani, kamboji rtp, Subhapantuvrali rtp, Ranga pura vihara, janaki pate, sabhapathikku, pagaivanukku arulvai, and many more
What I like about him is that he takes the bhaava of the raaga to its maximum grandeur or emotion. He doesn't try to make it overly melodious alone. Ranga pura vihara is an example. Many singers make it merely melodious and its grandness is lost.
I'm aware of the criticism about his sahitya issues, but since I am also weak in it hasn't affected me so far.
I have started carnatic classes because of his influence, To be able to enjoy the depths of carnatic music.
Which musician has influenced you like that? Also what's your opinion on TMK- THE SINGER!
