First Rep

I just received my first rep, an Air-King. I ordered it thru DH from MT. Ordered on 8-4-26, shipped on 8-6-26 and delivered in rural Ohio on 8-15-26. This is his Super U1 40mm. It was only offered with the Minzhu movement. I paid $93. I''m really liking it. I still need to remove some links for proper fit (7¼" wrist). Time will tell how it holds up.

Marine Star daily watch

I picked this up last winter, used. It's a 98B131. Well finished overall. Nice solid bracelet. The clasp works good but it's stamped sheet metal. Overall a nice quartz watch.

Dysbiosis and Anxiety

My wife has struggled with extreme anxiety for the past 2 1/2 years. She has seen every kind of specialists/Dr you can imagine. They all say the same thing, she is overall healthy.

Her psychiatrist and therapist (no longer seeing) both in a short time of seeing her said the same thing...her anxiety is definitely biological.

We never pieced things together until the past few months but from the onset of the anxiety, she would talk about her stomach hurting. We finally noticed about 15 minutes after she would eat, her stomach really started to hurt and about 15-30 minutes after that, her anxiety would scream up. Her anxiety is also bad in the morning and mid day.

We have charted her cortisol several times. It is in "range" but at the upper limit in the morning and does not drop off like most people's, it stays elevated until late in the day.

Back to the gut hurting. Like many, she was tested for sibo and h. pylori and was negative. On our own, we had a stool test done and that was eye opening. My wife has suffered with UTIs all her life. At one point she had a resistant strain that took injection antibiotics to cure. Huge doses of antibiotics over and over appears to have really wrecked her gut. We know the gut brain axis is very powerful and have read up quite a bit about it. She definitely has dysbiosis (and IBS-C).

We have adopted a low FODMAP and a low histamine diet. She does take probiotics. Unfortunately with a low histamine diet, we had to stop the l. reuteri, sauerkraut and kefir. I make sure along with lean protein, she gets a variety of fiber based vegetables and cooked/cooled starches. Trying to balance each meal with variety.

We know everyone has a different system. Has anyone been able to turn things around in the gut and get the gut healed and the gut brain axis back on track? How long did it take to start seeing changes in your instance?

Looking for my "first" U1

I'm looking at these two. Whichever one would be in a daily rotation. Just something to play with. Suggestions? Insight?

The Explorer would be $88.34, the OP would be $87.12. With these prices, they both have the 2813 movement. Also looking at either the 36mm or the 39/41mm. I tend to prefer the 39-40 size in watches.

DHgate what am I missing?

In today's email I get what looks like a reduced price offer. I click on it, link goes to the regular price listing I have been looking at for the past few days. I have went back to my email and rechecked it a couple times. Am I missing something?

My New Beater Watch from Loreo

I took the plunge and grabbed this Loreo on AliX. For the $, I really like it and it's my daily watch now. The overall fit and finish is pretty good. The Seagull automatic movement is quiet. This has a screw down crown and a see thru screw back. Cons: The bracelet has some play in the links when compared to more expensive brands and the latch is stamped sheet metal but it's not bad.

Suggestions on these dials

I'm thinking about putting together my first project. I'm looking at these dials. Has anyone used one of these before? Suggestions on a particular case (looks to be using a 40mm case?). Pros and cons.
