I used this new lube - lube life.
It’s been 2 days since I used it and my vagina is now swollen and red and painful.
I tried a bit in my arm, and it’s red so clearly I’m allergic to it. I wish I had done that before.

Any idea when this will subside? Do I just wait it out? My vagina feels like it’s on fire.
I used it on Monday morning and now it’s Wednesday and I feel it’s gotten worse.
Please help.

I used Lube life lubricant from Amazon for the first time on Monday morning. My partner is fine, but my vagina is still on fire and it’s now Wednesday. We were a little rough, so I thought the normal soreness would subside.
I feel it has gotten worse!! My vagina and vulva is red, irritated, puffy, inflamed. Feels like my vagina is on fire. It hurts to the touch. No yeast discharge and no smell.
I don’t know what to do! Please help!

If you have time, here’s my story.

I’m 34, married to my husband for going on 9 years. Great marriage overall, but sometimes we have a dry spell when it comes to sex. Not cool right?

We’re adults. So, Last week we spoke about it. “We are 2 young, healthy individuals who love and are attracted to each other,” I said, “we should be having more sex”.
So, we started having more sex - great! We had sex twice in one week after this conversation! Yay us!

But then… both those times… things felt weird down there for me. Let’s dive into that, shall we?

Many years ago, I experienced recurring yeast infections and BV. Eventually, boric acid brought me back to normal and I have been good.
I do use boric acid occasionally after sex/menstrual cycle.

The last 2 times “we did the do”, I felt… dry. I felt that I couldn’t handle the penetration for very long. I felt irritated down there, I felt intense friction. I promise, my mind and heart were totally in it, but SHE just wasn’t cooperating.

A couple days later, I had yeast like discharge. Head to the Dr, and was prescribed 1 dose of Fluconazole. I also went on to describe my symptoms/experience during my last sexual escapade.

“How long have you been on the pill?” She asks.
I reply, “since I was 17 years old, pretty consistently.”
As I continue to describe my vagina dilemma, she breaks the news to me that basically, my cake is dryer than the Sahara Desert.

At 34? How embarrassing and pathetic is that! Especially since I just had a conversation about being freaky more frequently.
But this is apparently caused by the extended use of birth control.

I have been prescribed Ovestin Ovules. I have inserted them at night for the last 3 nights. It burns like the devils crotch for about 20 mins, and then subsides. I understand this is normal and will get better as the tissue heals? Also 4 days since the 1 dose of Fluconazole.

I still feel slightly irritated down there sometimes during the day… like there’s something stuck in there. Or like my labia minora are rubbing together. Before I started both treatments, I couldn’t even touch it - so that has improved.

I do plan in the coming months to get off birth control. We do not want children, so also thinking of just tying my tubes, and just deal with the terrible periods (the main reason why I have been on the pill so long).

I would love to hear your stories if anyone has been in a similar situation. I know I’m not pathetic and I shouldn’t be embarrassed, but I can’t help it. Especially considering the timing with my recent conversation. I try to laugh about it and stay positive, but this really is some BS lol
I just want a normal, healthy sex life with the man I love.
