Locked out of Gmail business account -> Lost Google Play Console, AdMob, app updates, and monetization
I'm in a really bad situation and hoping someone has been through this or has advice.
I got logged out of my Gmail business account and I can't get back in. This account is the owner of my Google Play Console and AdMob account.
The strange part is that I know the correct password and I can successfully complete 2FA using my Google Authenticator app. However, on the final verification step, where Google is supposed to send an SMS verification code, I immediately get the error: "Too many failed attempts. Try again later."
The error appears before an SMS is even sent, so I never have a chance to enter the code. I've waited and tried again later, but the same thing keeps happening.
This has had a huge impact on my business. My app has over 10,000 registered users, and because I can't access the account:
- I can't access the Google Play Console.
- I can't publish app updates or bug fixes.
- Google Sign-In in my app has stopped working.
- In-app purchases no longer work.
- Ads have stopped serving because I lost access to AdMob.
Has anyone experienced this specific "Too many failed attempts" error even after entering the correct password and Authenticator code? Is there any way to get past it or contact Google about this? If the account can't be recovered, is there any way to regain access to the Play Console or transfer ownership?
At this point, I'm unable to maintain or monetize my app, and my users are affected as well. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
