Examples of Lemonade price increase with age?

Howdy! I am trying to swallow the pill of Trupanion being $200 a month from the jump - I honestly would rather have a policy that increases with her age as my income increases year by year. I am aware that Trupanion does not increase with age - just the cost of care and inflation.

I have seen posts that Lemonade has big jumps around age 7 or 8. What have you experienced? How high did you monthly cost get and at what age?

For reference, I have a 5-year-old Shih Tzu. I am keeping her existing Spot $4k a year policy (yes I was naive when I adopted her) to cover her chronic allergy stuff and luxating patella (the vet "looking" at her luxating patella during a vaccination appointment). No, I will not be two-timing claims.

Wildfire smoke, dual “hose-in-hose” and negative pressure

Howdy! Been lurking here this past week. For TLDR - see question at end.

A little info on my situation. PNW Seattle metro area renter, in a roughly 500 sf one bedroom apartment. I live on the 8th (top floor) of my building, on top of a hill, and am west facing. My apartment gets absolutely torched in the summer and I have been using flimsy fabric “seals” for casement windows. Incredible views though!

My current units are the 8000 btu (SACC) Hisense dual hose from Costco for living area (350 sf) and a single hose Black and Decker 5100 btu (SACC) for bedroom (150 sf) . Both are ideal units at least sf wise but don’t keep up above 85 deg sf. I have 9’ ceilings

Problem: we had AQI 130 from wildfire smoke and I have had a crazy asthma flare up. I didn’t realize the single hose could be bringing the smoke in due to negative pressure. I always run an air purifier in tandem but alas I was in urgent care yesterday after I couldn’t get on top of my wheezing.

Solutions I’m considering:
- getting custom plexiglass for windows so I can still enjoy my view. (So expensive though for a rental though 😭)
- in lieu of doing the dual hose conversion for my existing single hose - I want to use hi sense 8000 in bedroom and get a new unit for living room. Looking at Whynter Arc-1030wn (12,000 ASHRAE, 10,000 Btu SACC) with dual hose

Question: I am reading comments that the dual “hose in hose” still produces negative pressure - will this cause wildfire smoke to seep in even with a decently sealed system?

Sincerely,
Wheezy in Seattle
