I know they had lots of players out but the performance from Drogheda was amazing. Let them have most of the ball but they created next to nothing. We even had spells where we kept them in their box and had the better chances over the game! Delighted, what an occasion!
For those of you who don't know. A hamster driver is someone who drives really up close to their steering wheel. Both hands on top of it. Looking straight ahead and completely unwilling to look around at their surroundings. Like a hamster holding a piece of food it is eating, in a complete daze.
Had one earlier one. Was on the motorway. Overtook a car in the left lane which was doing 100ish. There was a car a little up ahead, caught it like 3s later, figured I'd overtake it too before moving back. But this car is in the right lane also. I chill behind it, waiting for it to move back to the left lane.
Of course she has 0 signs or intentions to, she is doing around 110 so we have pulled away from any car in the left lane and we are catching none. I want to drive at 120. So I do a quick double flash - nothing. I do a quick double beep - nothing. I then move into the left, see if she is gonna react - nothing. So I undertake. When I look to my side while overtaking, long and behold, she is a hamster driver absolutely dead eyes on the road ahead nearly leaning over the steering wheel.
I have come across them many times. They will pull out in front of you, cut corner, drift out of their lane etc. If you beep at them they do not react like they are absolutely oblivious to the world around them.
I can't really believe I need to clarify this, but if you thought otherwise to the below information and had the stupidity to comment it, you should not be driving. Both illegal yes, but in terms of danger, it's not a debate. Unless you're a moron. Have a good night and put your phones lying on the seat if you are only "listening" to youtube.
I don't know if anyone relates but in every season I find myself getting really excited for the first or second episode, maybe the 3rd. But then the episodes after that up until the finale drop off and it's kind of like tedious, uneventful, repetitive scenes that just don't feel has high stake. It's like they are really "filler episodes" then the finale is pretty "good" but not great.
It's like my excitement is like that meme of the horse. Start is the horse on fire, middle is the childish doodle of the horse and end is just a normal horse.
It's just so so unnecessary, just leave it a bit off center in the aisle so people can get past you and get access to the fridges. The amount of times I see people just standing there staring at an item as their trolley is blocking 3 fridges OR it going perpendicular to the aisle and blocking the whole width of it.
Literally had someone earlier literally hit me with their trolley as I was walking away from a fridge they were moving it against the fridges and nearly jammed be between the trolley and fridges and not even an apology. So weird.
Whenever I try to make a garlic sauce or chipotle sauce etc it just tastes so bitter and ruins the whole thing. I want to use this obviously over mayonnaise for the health factor. I use 0% Greek Style yogurt.
I live in Ireland and authentic "Greek Yogurt" is hard to come by. So Greek "Style" yogurt is common here. I have tried 0% and full fat. I have tried adding honey, lemon juice or whatever to balance out the bitterness but its so prominent.
Anyone have any ideas and would buying authentic greek yogurt instead fix the issue?
Joining onto the M1 from Dundalk today, heading southbound. As I am going down the ramp I can see there is a car coming but a decent bit away in the left lane. I build up speed but since I am building up speed and he is already at speed he catches up along side me. I put the foot down and try to get ahead of him but he seems to also be speeding up so we are constantly side by side.
I cannot lift off and join behind him because there is 3/4 cars behind him and the gap between each is not that big. Definitely not safe enough to lift off and suddenly cut in between them. So I ended up having to brake and drop down to about 60 before all 4 cars had passed me and then I could join. But I would rather not have to do that since it would be dangerous if there was fast traffic approaching again.
I personally think the guy in front was purposely trying to not let me get ahead of him as I was joining. I think he should have just moved over to the right lane (there was space). I know he's not obligated to but I think it was the safest option.
I was in a store yesterday and was walking around in the downstairs part. I walked past a little girl, around 2 years old, wearing a Lightening McQueen plush thing that goes around her waist. I think nothing of it, family is probably nearby. I then go to the upstairs section. There is parents around early or mid 40s and 2 kids between 5 and 10, one with the same Lightening McQueen thing. It clicks. The little girl downstairs is also their child walking around by herself and they don't care.
I get to the tills and the father is getting served ahead of me. He's returning a LOT of stuff and also buy a lot of stuff. The staff member says there are no tags on the clothing items. He SHOUTS for his wife and in the distance I hear her say "Where are you" and he says "at the till". She then says "Oh daddy is at the tills cmon lets go". The wife and kids then walk past a tight space where everyone is queuing and not a "sorry, excuse me" as she goes past everyone.
She then goes on a bit of a Karen rant to the cashier saying how she doesn't know why there is no tags and ignoring her kids who are playing football behind her with a packet of wipes on the floor. Eventually the cashier is able to make something work and the wife leaves to go to another shop and leaves the husband there. Not before she says to the kids "leave that there (on the floor), we didn't buy that" about the wipes they were kicking around.
Am I over analyzing this or does this seem like a weird combination or stupidity and main character syndrome?
Before the pitchforks come out, I am a woman. I go for a walk every evening and just got back from one. Every day I get instances of this. 2 women walking 2 a breast chatting and would rather barge me off the road than go single file for one second. A poor girl in front of me walking towards me came up to two women in front of me walking the same direction as myself. The one on the outside squeezed as close as she could to her friend and left the poor girl a generous 10cm of space to walk through and got forced out onto the road.
I know men can be guilty of this but it's FAR LESS. I find grown men rarely do it. Teenage lads do it but they are just trying to all act cool in front of each other and their brains aren't fully developed. But with fully grown adults it is comfortably 95% women in my experience.
What is the logic here? It's like "how dare you make me step aside for one second". Is there a chip on their shoulder for some reason?
Driving to work this morning, a car driving 80 on a 100 road. It's straight, wide, good condition etc. But for some odd reason drives at 80 and holds everyone up. Can't overtake as it's one lane and people coming from the opposite direction.
Then driving home, on an 80 road, someone doing the same thing but going 60. We then turn onto a new road that is 50, they drop to 40 and proceed to not go above 40. But don't slow down further for speed bumps lol. It really does confuse me.
I know it's a limit not a target. But when conditions are safe enough to do so e.g visibility, weather, road conditions, hazards, view ahead. Then I think you should be building up to the speed limit and helping the flow of traffic.
I'll start by saying I love to see kids out playing and being active instead of being inside on phones, tablets, consoles etc. I bring this up because there is a little fella in my street that is around 9 years old. I am not exaggerating when I say nearly every one of his waking minutes he is outside roaming around. I leave for work, he's there. I get home, he's there. I go to the shop, he's there. I cut my grass, he's there. Sometimes playing with other kids, sometimes just roaming about by himself.
He's a lovely chap, very polite but I'm starting to think I'm being pranked and that there is actually like 6 of him. I can't believe how much he's out. It's like he's not allowed back in his house until dark or something lol. Is this common for anyone else where they live?
Do you not consider animals who are petrified, babies who are asleep in houses nearby etc when you drive around with your childish stupid car that is so unnecessarily loud and the cringiest thing on the planet?
Kids used to do that when I was younger, we would stick a plastic bottle in our bikes to make it sound louder. Then a year later we grew out of it.
I ask because every day when I drive I see multiple people use the same roundabouts different ways. Lots of insane ways too (indicating right to take the first exit). Just wanted to see how people learned and from who? My mam is a driving instructor and the way I learned is
Always give way to ALL traffic on the roundabout when entering. It seems many Irish people cannot use them correctly so I figured I'd ask.
EDIT: I know there are more complex roundabouts with 3 entry lanes, lights, spiral roundabouts etc. But I am talking about your standard 2 lane roundabout.

Obviously its not a 100% hit rate, some can be fine and not noticeable. But whether it's how they drive and bully people on the roads in their vans, gather in shops and roar their heads off like they're a bunch of 10 year old's on a sugar rush or parking illegally in most places they are going to.
It's not confirmation bias either, you never see this behaviour from a bunch of business men in suits or a bunch of nurses on their lunch break or a bunch of guards going into somewhere for their lunch etc.
EDIT: I don't want this to be confused with "lad culture" which I am well aware of. This is a level above.
Was in Eamonn Deacy park there on Friday for the Galway/Drogs game in the away end. For most of the game there was a section of the home support adjacent to the away end full of around 50 kids. No older than 11 or 12 I'd say. For most of the game they were shouting abuse at the away fans, mostly "Wankers, wankers" until they left at around the 85th minute.
Myself and friends didn't mind, thought it was funny. But what worried me is that there seemed to be 2 adults supervising these 50 odd kids. At times the kids were shouting at the 2 adults 2 shouting "Who are ya etc". Is this a bit careless from their end? 2 adults looking after 50 hyped up kids who didn't seem to have control.
Plus - like I said I didn't care what they were shouting at us. But if only a few away fans with a screw loose took offence to this it could result in an incident. I've been at away games plenty of times with fans that close but obviously the adults have the cop on to not do that especially for that long of the game. I think this is very careless from Galways part.
This coming year I've been thinking if I need to tone it down a bit. I get a bonus in October and usually set aside around a grand for all the Christmas presents of people. That would be my parents, sister, gf, niece and nephew. Usually does be 100 - 150 per person.
Just wondering what everyone else spends in case the norm is more or less than what I'd spend.
The amount of people I see who are just dead eyed staring straight ahead and pull out in front of someone or don't look when changing lanes. They are too focussed on what is ahead or give a glance in their mirrors. They NEVER actually swivel their head on the shoulders to look around.
I'm sorry to generalise but 90% of the time i see this it's women too. They are sat really close to their steering wheel, hand on top of the steering wheel like a hamster and just staring right in front of them. If they pulled out in front of someone and nearly got t-boned they would have no idea.
People are like horses with blinders on. PLEASE LOOK AROUND.
