BT FTTP Broadband install drama

I ordered BT full fibre 900 on the 19th March. Engineer came on the 15th April, said he couldn't do it but didn't say why. Then another engineer arrived on the 19th May, fitted the ONT box but then said he couldn't complete it as the pole did not have a CBT box at the top. So I raised Executive complaints to BT about selling a service that they couldn't supply, and to Openreach as well because their website (and BT's one too) said that it was now enabled/available. Openreach came back with a line of sight issue, plus the fact that I love in an unadopted road so they have to get a wayleave signed.

I cancelled the order and I received an ofcom credit from BT on Monday morning because they couldn't complete and I put the matter to rest. Then I noticed the BT website said that I had an outstanding order so I looked and BT has raised an order for a full fibre upgrade!!!! It wasn't the old order they cancelled and reenabled but a new order!!!! Then I received an email from Openreach saying that they are coming to install it in 2 weeks. The issue with the pole still hasn't been sorted, the line of sight issue remains and no Openreach survey team has been seen near the pole. The estate company had had no wayleave paperwork.

This has got to be a wind up surely.

Lower handlebars

Have been thinking with fitting lower rise handlebars. Not wanting to go with the clip ons that someone in one of the 8S groups. Either that or I raise the forks in the clamps a bit so the bars fit lower. No real reason for doing it like handling etc, but now that the bike is mine after paying the finance off I just want to fiddle with it 🤨

I was going to trade my GSX8S as the finance agreement is nearly over. Was looking at a BMW F900R or a GSXS750. Went to the dealer to discuss figures. Was looking for around £4500 to make the swap worthwhile.

2023 GSX8S, white, 11700 miles

A few small mods but bike would be put back to standard spec.

Full main dealer service history

New tyres fitted 3 months ago (Bridgestone S23s)

New brake pads all round

His offer was £3300!!!! And he didn't even look at it.

High mileage, wouldn't be able to sell it for more than £3750, few marks on it blah blah blah the usual dealer waffle.

Pointed out that a BMW dealer had offered me £4500 (which was a bit of a fib) and had seen bikes same as mine in this condition (if not a bit worse) and mileage higher than mine go easily for £5000 plus... Asked where he got his info from.

eBay!!! Not Bke Trader, but eBay!! I mean, they use that as a price guide!!!!!?????

So I walked out, rode home, then went online and bought a new tail tidy and a number plate. Decided that if that was all they were going to offer I'll keep the bike. I do love it...

I know dealers have to make a living but he'd have probably made £2000 selling it.
