New Mexico Scorpions 1996-2009
The New Mexico Scorpions were a Central Hockey League (CHL) team located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The team was established in 1996 as a part of the Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL). In 2001, the WPHL merged with the CHL. On July 2, 2009, the Scorpions ceased operations.

Perfect time to bring back trading cards
A lot of people would be interested now and looking for rookie cards and cards of Socceroos players.
I know it’s too late to have had them for the World Cup but I feel like a lot of hype will dissipate by the time the season rolls around again.
Going into stores and seeing trading cards for basically every other league except the A-League does make it feel left out in that regard.
It’s a get the casual viewers into the league and help learn some of the players and clubs.

On this day in 1952, the first ever night V/AFL game and the first game in Queensland.
28,000 watched Geelong vs Essendon in Brisbane as part of Round 8, 1952. All VFL matches that week were moved to country and interstate venues in an effort to spread interest in the game. Originally to be played on a Saturday night, the match was rescheduled due to torrential rain. Essendon (23.17) defeated Geelong (12.14) by 69 points the following Monday night in the first official VFL match to be played under floodlights
