My tarkov companion app shows your location, where your active quests are, and which extracts are available to you. Thoughts?

I described the new app in more detail in this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/1vsgatf/feedback\_escape\_from\_tarkov\_companion\_app/)

The new feature that shows the extracts I can use is such a quality of life improvement for me.

Thoughts?

[Feedback] Escape From Tarkov Companion App

Hey Tarkovers!

I know this post may upset some, and for others it may be a light from above.

I've had some annoyance with how Tarkovs UI and general setup has been where I think it leans more on just being frustrating/bad design, than being "hardcore". And to me that has never been a part of the Tarkov game.

I've spend the last few weeks building out a tarkov companion app. It is pretty simple for now, what it does is:

- When you load onto a map, that map is loaded (on a second screen, in the companion app).

- It then shows approximately where you are on the map (see screenshot)

My player position on customs in the map. This is useful for me on new maps since I dont know them, and it is hard to figure out my position, I use this to instantly know where I am.

- At the same time I can see my questlog on the map:

- It has a "Route" button, which connects the dots of my quests, and shows me the locations I must go to:

- When in raid, you can activate an overlay to show if you need items for quests / prices. You just hover your mouse on it, the companion app tells you to KEEP / SELL, and calculates slot value/flea/trader value, so you can put the most valuable items in your backpack.

- When in your stash, it is useful to know if an item should be kept because you need it for a quest later. So I use price calculation and in raid to determine if it is a quest/valuable item, and later when I extract just if it should be put in Scav Junkbox or on flea.

Quest item over lay - here I am on Scav, so Scav does not know PMC has active quests for Bad Habit.

But I can also just have regular items which is not needed for anything and can be sold or used at your leaisure:

And can you get banned for using this?

I do not believe so. My software does not interact with the game in any way or form, it uses advanced analytics on screen to try and estimate what item you are hovering over, and looks it up on open tarkov databases. I have no interaction with the EscapeFromTarkov binary in any way.

It is therefore first of all not detectable, and it is second of all not fair to ban people for using it. It is just an add-on, like Questie is for World of Warcraft.

Tarkov is a hardcore game and you should only follow Nikitas vision

That is a fair point - but there are just some points of design I disagree with, I think we should have a map, I think we should know where quest locations are. Instead of spending time on quest websites and looking it up (which we all do anyways, so what is the point?)

How can I get access?

I welcome your feedback in the comments - and /care if you think I'm an idiot for building a tool that makes Tarkov much more enjoyable.
