2026 Wind (Canada) Winter Tire Sizes

Hi everyone, I just got my EV9 Wind in April and I’m researching winter tires. Getting 255/60R19 113V XL winter tires are very expensive and there’s very little selection.

Has anyone gone with another size that has worked for winter tires?

I’m in lower mainland in BC Canada, so not expecting crazy amounts of snow, but I have children and prefer to be safe in the event we do get snow and/or ice.

Morning routine/schedule with newborn twins and a toddler?

We are expecting twins in September and we have a daughter who will be 3.5. She does to daycare full time, and we try to have her there by 8am each day so my husband and I can work (it’s just a 2min drive away).

I’ll be on maternity leave for a year, and we are planning on doing shifts for overnights for the first while. My husband will have 7 weeks off and then will be back at work. We are struggling to figure out what a schedule for overnight looks like when we have to get a toddler ready and to daycare in the mornings.

Can folks in similar situations share your experiences? We will have more flexibility for the first 7 weeks while my husband is not working, but when he goes back to work I can’t wrap my head around how that might look. He works from home and normally needs to start around 8, 8:30 at the latest.

Oldest singleton needs so much attention

I’m 23 weeks with mo/di girls. We have a 3yo daughter already and she seems incapable of self play and needs us to engage with her at all hours. While my husband is cooking I have to keep her entertained, if we encourage her to play on her own she refuses. Right now is the easy part (even though I’m exhausted), I have no idea how we are going to handle this once the babies come. Any suggestions on encouraging independent play for the oldest? I’d like to start practicing now before they come.

So much movement!

I’m 22 weeks with mo/di girls and they are both moving around SO MUCH! They aren’t even that big yet and it’s starting to get uncomfortable. They will both go on kicking sprees at the same time and my abdomen will respond by hardening up and it’s so uncomfortable. They also feel like they are doing summersaults and it makes my stomach feel like I’m on a roller coaster. Usually I love that feeling but it’s getting a bit much and makes me start to feel slightly motion sick! I’m worried what the next 14 weeks will be like if they are this active. I’m assuming there’s not much I can do about this other than just grin and bear it…

Cross bars and trailer recommendations

Hi all, I have a 2026 Wind (from Canada). I needed the bench seat so had to go with the wind, but still need to put a Thule on top and considering a storage trailer. We do a lot of camping, I have a 3yo and twins on the way! I’m struggling to find cross bars that attached to the frame for the EV9. Has anyone found anything that works well without damaging the car? Also, I’d need a tow hitch installed (I’ll probably have Kia do it?) and wouldn’t mind recommendations for a trailer for camping gear. I’m in Canada, so things available in Canada are preferred. Thanks!

Should I invest my emergency fund?

I have recently moved my TFSA and RRSP from a Financial Advisor to Wealthsimple. I hated paying 1% to someone when we are just doing the "set it and forget it" strategy, and the portfolio she had me in was doing terribly and I couldn't stand it. I have put all of my long term savings in XEQT and I don't plan to touch it for 20+ years unless something really terrible happens. I have withheld $20k for now and I'm trying to decide what to do. It is essentially our emergency fund for things that come up with the house, our vacation savings, etc. I hate the idea of it sitting there doing nothing. Is there something I can put it in that is lower risk than XEQT but still still allow it to do something while it sits? I of course will be doing my own research before making a decision, just hoping to hear what people's thoughts are.

Investment Ideas

Hi all, I’m in the process of moving my banking and investments to WS. I will do a self-managed TFSA and RRSP. I’m moving $64K in TFSA and $12K in RRSP. I plan to max out my TFSA room before contributing to RRSP unless I need to reduce owed taxes.

I’m planning on putting most into XEQT, but just wanted to get ideas. RRSP is obviously a very long term investment, don’t plan on touching it for 25 years. The TFSA is also supposed to be for retirement savings, but it is also our emergency saving for random stuff that comes up in life or house.

I keep hearing that XEQT is best for 10+ years investing. I’m planning to put the bulk of my TFSA into that, but then is there something better to put our “emergency fund” into? We also have random savings for things like travel that we’d like to keep invested, but would need to pull out as needed. Maybe I can keep $15k invested in something else for these things?

Also, is XEQT the best place for long term investment for RRSP?

I know getting advice from the internet can be interesting haha and I will research any ideas given. Just want to see what others are doing.

Hip Pain Solutions for Bed

With my singleton pregnancy I got bursitis in my hips and it made sleeping on my side so painful. Nothing I tried at the time helped. I’m 16w with twins and so far no hip pain, but I’m expecting it to show up at some point. Did anyone with hip pain find a solution to relieve the pressure in bed? Unfortunately a lot of the pillows sit exactly where a pregnancy pillow sits for my belly, so trying to navigate that…

Pregnancy Pillow Recommendations

What was everyone favourite pregnancy pillow that gave good belly and back support and didn’t have scratchy Velcro? I tried a couple different ones with my first and ended up with one I liked but it didn’t have super great belly support (I didn’t really need it since I didn’t get very big with her). I’m only 16w with twins and already feel like I need the belly support. I’m in Canada, so ideally something available here!

Anyone else super annoyed by the hyper active proximity sensors? It’s screams at me like I’m imminently about to hit something when I have so much space. I feel like it’s going to be the boy who cried wolf where I start ignoring the warning and eventually will hit something. They are also so loud! I’ve turned it down as low as it can go. I’m pregnant and fear it will wake a sleeping baby, so I may have to silence it…anyone know if they can be recalibrated or something? I have the 2026 Wind from Canada.
