Anyone prepping for tomorrow?

27 M, I am about to drink prep in next 30 minutes , I have to finish first prep within 2 hours? How about you? Have you already had your prep? Honestly I am more afraid of colonoscopy results than prep itself. Currently it's 5.27 pm in Nepal.

Hey everyone,

I was recently admitted to the hospital after noticing black stool (melena). I underwent evaluation including blood tests and an upper GI endoscopy. I was found to have gastric/antral ulcers and started on treatment (PPI + antibiotics for H. pylori).

My hemoglobin and vital signs were stable, and I did not require emergency procedures like transfusion or surgery. I was discharged with medication and follow-up advice.

I’m now in recovery and monitoring symptoms at home. Stool color is gradually improving, and I’m continuing treatment as prescribed.

I’m posting this AMA because the experience was quite stressful and confusing, especially dealing with symptoms like black stool and uncertainty about what was happening. Happy to answer questions about:

Hospital admission process

Endoscopy experience (I was awake during it)

How melena feels/symptoms I noticed

What treatment was like

Anxiety during medical investigations

Recovery process so far

I’m not a doctor—just sharing my personal experience.

Ask me anything.
