Why people are burning here?

You need to understand, Deloitte is not ER. I keep hearing from people I'm on burn project, I'm working 15 hours, I'm in relationship with my laptop.. Why? Specially people working in L&D, consulting. Dude you are creating training material for people and that too you are not going to deliver it. But pressure you take or show is that there is patient lying on bed with snake bite and you need to save life. You are not giving someone anti venom dose that it needs to be given this hour, this day.

  1. People need to push back.
  2. Say no when they ask to work on weekends.
  3. Try to communicate if your deliverables are delayed. Don't get scared and burst you @$$ to complete it. You might end up in some health problem in long term. Long term as in even in month it can happen.
  4. Deloitte always takes more work than expected so you also take time.
  5. DON’T BE SCARED!
  6. Stop treating yourself some important person that if you don't create one sop, user guide, or presentation on time then things will go south. Dude you are just a C, Sc, M in L&D role. Literally!!!! If company decides to lay off the forces you and your team will be first in radar. NO MATTER HOW YOUR PERFORMANCE IS!
  7. Stop saying I have so much work, my project is on burn.

Inhuman treatment during monsoon! No expectation! Demanding wfh during monsoon season.

It's raining cats and dogs in Pune and Mumbai. Pune office location is the most cheap location in the city (oh sorry outside city). Last building in Pune. It takes minimum 1 hour to reach office even from Wagholi and Yerwada which are nearby area to office. There are people who are travelling 2-2.5 hours one way to office. Cabs fare range between 600-1000 depending on start location. Book cab is difficult. No cab pool people go till itpp. Because apparently everyone’s office is in eon or wtc which is central kharadi. Still Pune office is not giving exception for wfh. On top of that there is so much work load. Spending 4-5 hours just on traffic is such inhuman. At least make it 1 day per week. During ganpati, due to pandals, coming to office will be a different ball game together. Deloitte needs to do something.

Just another rant post

Other than my project lead everyone around me knows how much I hate the project I'm currently working on. I spoke to my lead to tell the work has become monotonous but my lead says “it is what it is”. You need to have patience. Bear with it for another few weeks n then we will have something different. White lie. Everyday the work is really boring. There is no work that I can contribute to for the next level. I'm not sure how will I get ONLs or even exceed expectation feedback. No matter how much hard work I do, that will be still considered as meet expectation / commensurate.
Deloitte is most complicated organization to work with. They just simply can't assign you the project of your liking. Apparently everyone in my org has same complain. They will conduct 1000 surveys regarding your skills n all. They will urge you to update DPN but what will happen at the end? Oh we need urgent staffing on this project, get anyone who is rolling off from current project. No interview, no interest check. Nothing.

Need Your Perspective on a Project-Related Dilemma

(Bit long but please read, you might be in same situation or must have faced same in the past)
I have been working on this project for some time now, and I find the work very unsatisfying. In fact, it feels like a government clerk in Mumbai might have more interesting work. I don’t have a strong reason to ask to be moved out of the project.

My manager is willing to do everything the client asks and rarely pushes back. It is always “yes” to whatever the client wants. The manager seems non-toxic and has been fine so far, although I wouldn’t say I have the best rapport with them. And not sure if I want to due to this kind of behavior.
The team is okay. People are generally willing to help, but only when they are free, not necessarily when you need support.
People advised me not to leave the project because there is no guarantee that the next project will be any better. It could come with its own set of challenges and surprises. At least the people on this project are harmless.

The problem is that if I continue to work on this project I feel it may impact my performance too as there is lack of motivation. Every day, I wake up feeling frustrated about starting work because I am not enjoying it at all.

Given this situation, what would you advise? Would you recommend staying the course and trying to find ways to make the current role more meaningful, if yes how? or any alternate suggestion? I'm not looking to change my company as of now just because of this single project.
