Ranch size meta after aquatic DLC update?

(Blasted Ceres)

I read somewhere they changed the mechanic. In the past I did 96 ranches with 8 critters (flox, hatch, drecko), then when got the reed fiber, added a condo and an extra critter, so eventually the ranches had 9 critters. The early-game wood factory worked really well for floxes, 8*9 = 72 floxes with 6*6 = 36 bammoths, plus all ranchers had a lot of grooming to do to train their skills.

I see now that e.g., 8-critter ranch with condo, reproduction is 20%/cycle, whereas 11-critter (again with condo) is 9%, 12-critter 5%, 13-critter 2% (once!). 14-critter is 2% too, but that's when they become glum (even if groomed), so metabolism (and thus antler growth) drops to 1/5

(I will not bother with the brackene due to the water requirement (water is sacred) + also needs dupe work to make it). So let's say if I optimize for wood production, not egg production (since antler growth is the same for both ranches), I just need to calculate:

  • 3*32 ranch (want to keep it rectangle + no pain when it comes to shipping) has condo (3), grooming (2), shearing (3), dropoff (1) pickup (1) = 10 tiles used, 22 remaining for farm tiles
  • 1 cycle = 1/3 plant = 5/3 flox
  • 3 plant = 5 flox
  • 22/3*5 = 36.66 floxes ?! I always sucked at math... But then they would be glum
  • extra pikeapple always good for sludges (for the reference, I think for 8 floxes you need 4.8 plants)

So unsure, how is it better? Running 13-critter ranches in full? Or the old "glum ranching"? I do not mind grooming, it trains the dupes up for the mid-game.. Then I can calculate what is less space, floxes or wild arbor trees for 30 kg/second ethanol production for the mid-game :D

(Afaik 2 flox = 1 bammoth is the cycle + dupe work on the rock crusher, the rest can be automated. Bammoths are easier, 3*32 supports 6 with some extra squash fries).

Need the BEST vacuum cleaner for RUGS

Hey!

I am looking for rug vacuum cleaner advice, thanks if anyone can help! I am looking this into it for an embarassingly long time, both posts and also videos, but need Reddit advice!

No pets, but honestly I do not mind pet-category. Buy in Switzerland/France, but keep recommending anything, I will check whether available, thanks (except the SEBO, impossible to get here; also Miele C3 is not avaialble).

Currently, we have a normal Siemens and a Hoover H100 Pets (both entry level, the latter we got to reduce friction). But we do not want improvement, we want the best (it can be both consumer or professional grade - unsure how much better are the professionals and where to look there).

I read many tests, but cannot locate tests comparing Dyson V15, V16 and the Miele Guard L1 Cat & Dog.

Basically the use of this vacuum would be to clean shitty rugs once a month. Money is not a concern, looking for the best performance. But ideally it is an item that does not break. Corded is totally fine for this, but if cordless, I need to be able to replace the batteries after 3-5 years (so I can buy the batteries - it is not a problem if it needs some DIY, I am fine doing electrical installations, electronics and such things). Would be great to buy it for a lifetime...

For comparison, my parent's something like this (my brother had asthma, it "solved it"), probably a newer model, but this head: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23LmvjEHAO4 - I am only looking for things that are at least the same, but preferably better (I hope it is not much of an ask given that this is 20-30 years old tech)
