Is it possible to update the Tarantula Pro's dongle to 1000Hz through the Windows app?

I have a question about the Tarantula Pro. In most online tutorials, you need to download a separate program and update it through your PC to enable the 1000Hz polling rate.

However, the Windows app (GameSir Connect) has an Update option for the controller.

As far as I understand, there's a difference between updating the controller's firmware and updating the dongle's firmware.

Does the Update option in GameSir Connect also update the dongle, or does it only update the controller?

FPS Issues After the New Update (Possible Fix)

I've been playing Spyro for about a week, and the game was running perfectly at 60 FPS, with only a few minor drops in specific moments.

After the latest update, however, the game couldn't get past 45 FPS after launch, sometimes dropping as low as 28 FPS.

If you're experiencing the same issue (I saw at least one other person on Reddit reporting it), I managed to fix it by going to:

Settings > System > Run Storage Device Maintenance Tasks

It takes anywhere from a few seconds to about a minute to complete. After that, the game went back to running at 60 FPS.

The only thing worth noting is that I feel like the game is stuttering a bit more now than it did before the update, but I'm not sure whether that's actually happening or if it's just placebo.

Either way, this might be a temporary solution until Steam releases another update.

Also, if the option doesn't appear in the System menu right after you turn on the console, wait a little while. It can take some time before it shows up.

P.S.: In case you need more information about my Steam Deck, it's an OLED model. The only plugins/software I have installed are Decky with HLTB, Wine, and EmuDeck (with no games currently installed). I don't use any mods.

Is it relatively normal for some games to have audio issues (popping and crackling)?

Ever since I got my Steam Deck, I’ve noticed that some games have audio problems, occasional popping sounds or crackling/static noise. I always assumed it was somewhat normal, maybe something related to Linux compatibility. For example, games like Call of Juarez have really intense popping during cutscenes, and the only way to fix it is by changing the Proton version (Checked on ProtonDB).

But some games still have rare popping issues (I even heard it once while opening Steam’s own menu), yet when I check ProtonDB, people usually don’t mention it.

One thing I noticed is that these issues seem much more common in games that use “older” sound effects, like 8-bit style audio and similar stuff. Not every game has this problem, but 8 out of 10 times, it’s with retro-style sounds. Of course, sometimes it also happens with games that have more “normal” soundtracks, but like I said, not all of them.

For example, the title screen of Coffee Talk 2 has a constant static noise, and the gameplay music also has some popping sounds, but nobody mentions it on ProtonDB.

Does my Steam Deck have a problem, or is it relatively normal to experience occasional popping and crackling in some rare cases?
