Would love advice on people disliking me for no reason pls

Over my entire life I’ve struggled with anxiety and my confidence and what people think of me, but have started to love myself as I am and started improving and changing. I stopped my bad habits and started trying to contribute good to society.

I’m really nice to everyone I encounter and I try to spread love and positivity. I know that sounds insufferable, some people hate people who are kind and happy it seems. I am that person who doesn’t get mad and just brushes stuff off. At the gym, I’m not a dickhead, I don’t act like I’m better than anyone. I smile and say good morning to all the regulars, I ask if the machines nearby are occupied by someone or someone else, wipe down my equipment. Outside the gym I lend a hand when I can I ask people if they need anything from me. I’m not conventionally feminine, but I’m not like this hideous person who needs to be locked away I don’t think. I’m just gay and buff, and androgynous presenting. Women I’ve been with have told me I’m attractive.

All this to say. Some people just do NOT seem to jive with me. Some guys look at me for example at the gym as weird because I lift more than them. I drive a nice car and some guy at the gym commented as I get out of my car “Nice rims.. upgrade? I remember you used to drive that ugly old beater hahahah.” And was really mean. In college, people don’t like me either. My professor made a comment in front of the entire class on how I might go to the gym and am stronger than the average guy, but “most women are weak”.

Today, I go to the gym for my cardio session, and as I am getting water there’s this older lady who stares at me for a few seconds, and then just maniacally laughs. This same lady laughed at me a few weeks ago when I was on a machine. I walked away and did my cardio anyway, and after a few mins she was staring at me pacing.

I’m just so lost. Is there something wrong with me? Am I overthinking? How do you deal with people not liking you despite your best efforts? I wanna just ignore people like this, but why are there adults who act like this? How do I ignore the hate?

Are you more of a meathead, or a science based lifter?

I know this sounds so silly, but I spent forever with the science based lifting approach. It made me overthink everything in the gym, as I was intimidated, so i never stuck with it. This year I started taking the gym serious, focusing more on compound movements (deadlift, dips, bench, pull ups, rows, etc) and its a lot more fun and gains are coming in quicker.

Wanna know what training approach you guys go with.
