DWI- is my life over? Be honest.

A few days ago, I got a dwi. I was around 3x the legal limit and was arrested. This was my first time ever even interacting with police outside of things like tickets or parking violations from the past etc. I am 27F and just applied to a PhD program. I’m using a public defender bc that’s all I can afford unfortunately. For context it happened in NJ although I am a resident of a different state.

I was sober for almost 1 year and relapsed and ended the day with a charge. I am at rock bottom. I deeply regret my actions and don’t really know how to navigate this, especially sober (again). Any advice or anything if anyone has ever experienced this or knows someone that has would help.

EDIT: for CONTEXT: I wasn’t actually driving but I was pulled over with my car still on when I was arrested. Also idk if I was arrested arrested or just held until my ride came. They let me have my phone and wait for someone to pick me up, no mug shots or anything like that. I know I will be facing a lot of annoying fees for a while and have to probably be on some duty of probation but I’m afraid I will go to jail. I’m terrified of what my future will look like if schools find out.
