CALLS KEIR STARMER EVERY SLUR UNDER THE SUN

The blades of grass

flutter in the wind,

clinging to their roots,

as to not be separated,

from one another.

Animals trample on

the grass, turning up

old turf, sick turf, 

turf that falls out

in clumps.

The ‘flowers’, as

they are called,

though they are weeds,

stealing life from 

the common grass,

stand tall and

stand pretty,

as if they are superior,

to the rest of

our lawn.

While the basic

grass suffers,

their nutrients

stolen by these

predatory weeds.

The flowers say

“It’ll all trickle down,

once I am gone,

after my death,

and you shall grow too.”

But we don’t.

We are the turf,

common, everlasting,

buffeted by the wind,

and ferocious animals.
