Food / skin allergies after chemo

F23, diagnosed PMBCL, finished 6-RCHOP (Sept2025-Jan2026), 18x radiotherapy (April-May2026), DS3 / clear PET scan (Feb 2026 & June 2026)

Anyone here who developed food or skin allergies after undergoing treatment (chemo&rad)? Before being diagnosed I have no allergies to any of foods, I can eat anything. But now, I think I have allergy to chicken & egg. Thus, my skin is MORE sensitive now. I also have itchiness in my face where there are dry patches and in my neck where there are acne-like rashes or keratosis pilaris.

I am referred to an allergist by my oncologist. My next PET scan would be on September 2026. I’m afraid this could be symptoms of relapsed PMBCL but I believe I did not have itchiness pre-diagnosis.

PMBCL relapse?

F23, had 6 RCHOP (Sept2025-Jan2026) & 18 sessions radiotherapy (April-May 2026). PET scan Feb 27 2026 & June 26 2026 shows no evidence of disease DS3, only with scar tissue.

2nd week of July, I had a headache which worried me to having CNS lymphoma, onco told me to undergo MRI and LDH blood test on the 3rd week, then it showed normal results.

4th week of July, I became so busy because I’m the one who takes care and assists my mom in the hospital due to her gallblader removal surgery. I had no proper sleep for 9 days and my body was so tired.

Up until now, I still help and assist my mom in every thing that she does. I do bring food at the second floor of our house, I wash the dishes, I help her take a bath, change clothes and stuff. (I’m an only child btw, I have no father since he passed away years ago)

Starting 2 days ago, there was a sensation or pressure on my right chest where the mass was or at the biopsy site. It comes and goes. Then yesterday, I had colds. Plus I have upper right back pain. I also have fatigue.

Could those be due to physical tiredness and stress? I’m scared lymphoma is back. I’m worried my immune system is down which cancer cells like. My symptoms back then were back pain and swelling due to SVC syndrome.

Will definitely bring this up to my onco but your thoughts please? :(

PMBCL scar tissue

I’m in remission (yay!) after 6 cycles of RCHOP (last cycle Jan 2026) and 18 sessions of radiotherapy (April-May 2026). Had my clear PET scan last June 2026.

However, sometimes I feel pressure or sensation in the right side of my chest where the scar tissue is, in the biopsy area. I think I feel it more when I am tired, stressed or anxious. Is this normal? I’m worried it’s being active or growing again or the lymphoma is back

Crying my heart out

I was the one who posted yesterday about a tension headache that’s been going on for a few days already.

A while ago I went to the ER for a check up since my oncologist was not available. A general doctor prescribed me with Paradrin Forte (for headache) and Betahistine (for vertigo) both 3x a day as needed. It is now the 4th day of my headache being present and even though I took two times of the Paradrin Forte, I still feel it. And if tomorrow I am still in pain, I am gonna get myself admitted.

Now, I am getting so anxious, crying, overthinking the worst, that it might be another cancer, or I’m dying. It sucks that I am trying to enjoy life again especially I have hair now but here I am.. again.. in pain. In fact, I even typed my last letter to my loved ones just now. I don’t know anymore. I just wanna be well.

My vital signs were normal. I had CBC, HGB is 114 (120-150), NEUT is 81.7 (30.0-55.0), LYMPH is 5.4 (20.0-50.0) and PDW is 8.7 (9.0-17.0).

My PET Scan shows clear result from PMBCL. No FDG activity especially in chest and even in the brain. It was done June 26 2026.

I am supposed to enroll and be back in the university this month to finish my degree but with what’s happening now? Idk. I’m so tired.

Tension headache?

I had my third PET scan in June 2026, and thankfully it showed that I’m in remission from PMBCL. However, for the past 3 days, I’ve been experiencing a headache. It feels more like a tension headache or the kind of head heaviness I get when I have a cold. I don’t have a cough, but I recently developed a runny nose. (Last night I took a medicine for headache & colds, I think the feeling is better now but it’s still there)

Also, three days ago, I also had one episode of dizziness when I stood up after eating at lunch. It felt like the room was spinning for a moment, and in the afternoon I took a nap, however an earthquake awakens me, since then I’ve had this persistent head heaviness.

For the past days I’ve been just scrolling through my phone, morning to evening. I don’t know if the radiation from my phone is also one of the factors. And a poor posture.

I’m getting really anxious because I keep worrying that it could be a relapse, CNS involvement, or something life-threatening. At the same time, I honestly can’t tell if the headache is real or if my anxiety is making me hyperaware of every sensation. Has anyone else in remission experienced something similar? Thoughts please?

PET Scan result

I recently had my PET scan which shows a conclusion of “no metabolically active lymphomatous disease and meletabolically stable superior mediastinal-anterior mediastinal mass. CT shows overall stable AP diameter/thickness with width regression (Deauville 3)”.

However, I am bothered with the SUV numbers since in my previous scan, the mediastinal SUVmax was 1.9, now it’s SUV 2.0 and the soft tissue SUVmax was 2.0, now it’s SUV 2.2. (The mass size before treatment was 6.8 x 9.7 x 11.2cm)

“Superior mediastinal-anterior mediastinal mass with overall stable AP diameter/thickness of 2.8 cm (measured at the uperior mediastinal region/component), previously 2.8 cm (re-measured in the prior study using approximately th ame plane). It's width however shows regression, now measuring 4.2 cm (measured at the anterior mediastina region/component), previously 5.2 cm (re-measured in the prior study using approximately the same plane). This shows stable low-grade FDG activity (SUV 2.2, previously 2; Deauville 3).

Persistent non-opacification of the SVC and brachiocephalic veins with right chest wall and right anterior peri-hepatic/right diaphragmatic collaterals.”

Thus, anyone here who also had SVC compression and still after treatment, the veins are narrowed? I don’t have symptoms of SVC syndrome anymore except the residual swelling in my collarbone. (I have hollowed/deep collarbone before which disappeared due to laying flat while sleeping and became swollen)

Despite showing it’s stable low-grade, I’m scared because there’s a change in the numbers, even though it’s small. My oncologist appointment is still on Saturday, and I’ve been feeling anxious about it, so I’m here hoping to get some opinions and find out if anyone has gone through the same thing.

Thank you so much

Anxiety

I (F22) finished my RCHOP chemotherapy last January 2026 and radiotherapy last May 2026. The chemo did it’s job and based on my 2nd PET Scan, it’s a CMR. I will be having my 3rd PET Scan next week and I am worried since I’ve been experiencing some back pain idk if it’s because of my posture or what 🥲 I also have some acneiform eruption / rash due to radiotherapy (based on my derma) and it sometimes do itch. (I was prescribed to take antibiotics Lymecycline and put Tretinoin lotion) Other areas in my body itch also and I don’t think I had the lymphoma itch as my symptom before getting diagnosed but I am so damn anxious about the itch I’ve been feeling. (It’s not always itchy) Thus, there’s a pressure sometimes in the mass area (biopsy site) which is in my chest near my right breast. I’m just so scared, I’ll be going back to uni this academic year to finish my degree but everything is so uncertain. My whole life is based on a scan. Just hoping for the best

Moon face & sweating

Does sweating help release excess fluid caused by steroid-related fluid retention, such as from prednisone used during chemotherapy?

Over the past few days, when I do physical activities or household chores, I have noticed that I sweat a lot, especially on my face and neck wherein I still have swelling at. For context, I had PMBCL (with SVCS swelling as my main symptom), and my last chemotherapy session was in January 2026, while I completed radiotherapy in May 2026.

Even before I was diagnosed, I was already very prone to sweating. However, I have noticed that I seem to be sweating more than usual lately. I am not sure whether this is simply due to the hot and humid weather here in the Philippines or if it could be related to the residual fluid retention and swelling that I am still experiencing.

Moon face

After chemo, how long would it take for the moon face to go away? It’s been almost 4 months since my last RCHOP chemo for PMBCL and I still have it. My cheeks still look so fuller or puffier than before. I know it takes time, but sometimes I tend to get impatient (which is not good) and I just want my old appearance back plus I get so insecure of my face. I am being kind to myself since my body endured so much during treatment it’s just that the thoughts hit me again today.

For those who had it, may I know your experience? Did face massages or lymphatic drainage massages or walking help?

Thank you! :)

Ikagagalit ba ng Diyos, kung sa palagay ko ay may pinapaboran Siya?

I had to fight for my life at the age of 22 due to cancer. I had to endure toxic treatments just to be cured. Pero kahit gumaling ako sa chemo at radiotherapy, may risk pa rin ako sa secondary cancers (esp breast cancer) dahil exposed ang breast ko during the radiotherapy treatment since nasa chest ang mass area ko.

Ngayon, hindi ko alam kung dapat ba akong matuwa dahil magaling na ako (complete response from treatment) or dapat akong malungkot at matakot dahil few years from now may possibility na magkasakit ulit ako.

Nakakabaliw.
